Something NEW is speeding into Orlando soon — the Brightline high-speed train is coming to MCO!

We’ve shared a first look at the station, details about how much tickets will cost, and estimates of travel times between Orlando and Miami. Now that tickets are officially on sale, we have more good news about the Brightline train!
The Orlando Airport train, or the Brightline train, will run from Miami to Orlando (or Orlando to Miami, depending on where you start) making it easier for folks to visit Disney World. And now, the extension from South Florida to Orlando is finally complete!

Currently, Brightline has a train line in Florida with stations in Aventura, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and West Palm Beach, and soon, there will be another stop at Orlando International Airport. Service to Orlando is expected to start in the summer of 2023, and tickets are on sale now.

The Orlando Business Journal shared that the project took a total of four years, seven million construction hours, and 56 bridges — not to mention $2.8 billion. Executives announced that the 170-mile corridor had been completed on June 21st.
To celebrate, Brightline will be hosting a “Bright Spike” ceremony and roundtable with local Mayors at the new airport station as well.

The station is 37,350 square feet in size and is next to Terminal C. It connects directly to Parking Garage C for the airport, and within that parking garage you’ll find “more than 350 parking spaces branded for Brightline guests.”
Throughout the station, you’ll find “high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations at every seat, 87 big screen televisions and a BrightKids children’s play area located in the SMART lounge.”

Once it starts, Brightline will run 16 daily round trips with hourly departures between Miami and Orlando, including regular service to Miami that also stops at stations in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and Aventura.

Brightline has announced that one-way fares start at $79 for SMART and $149 for PREMIUM. But there will also be SMART fare bundles for families of four that will be less than $199 one way.
If you’re wondering what SMART and PREMIUM mean, Brightline offers those as its two classes of service. PREMIUM includes complimentary meals, snacks, and beverages, a dedicated first-class lounge, free checked luggage, priority boarding, and a dedicated coach.

Service begins on September 1st, and tickets are on sale now on Brightline’s website. We’ll be keeping up with the latest updates as the route is closer to opening — so stay tuned to AllEars for more updates!
