Celebrities recently came out for the premiere of The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation featuring Halle Bailey as Ariel and Jodi Benson found herself spilling all the princess tea!

Legendary Disney voice actress, Jodi Benson, was recently interviewed by People Magazine and dropped a major bombshell on us! Apparently, the original voices of the Disney princesses keep in touch quite often, and they’ve got the receipts to prove it.

Benson said that the actresses behind the original Disney princesses from the animated films keep in touch by a group text thread they’ve dubbed the “Princess Posse”. Iconic voice actresses Judy Khun, Irene Bedard, Paige O’Hara, and Linda Larkin from Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin, were all name-dropped by Benson as active members.

When asked about the text thread Benson said, “It is fun to be part of this very special club.” She also had nothing but raving words for the Disney company and recounts she’s now been closely working with Disney for 38 years and doesn’t seem to want to slow down anytime soon.

When asked about her feelings on the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, she also noted, “I’ve been part of the Disney family for so long, I completely trust our company. I really do.” And also added, “I had no hesitation that it was going to be breathtaking. And as soon as I heard Rob Marshall was going to be steering the ship, I knew we were in great hands.”

Benson has also mentioned being “protective” of the Ariel character since voicing her in the 1989 animated version of the film but was very pleased with the outcome of the new film’s reimagining and happy to see the spin on the classic tale.
