Harry Styles Is 100% the Disney World Monorail, Prove Us Wrong

Hello and welcome to our official presentation on what celebrities 100%, truly, and honestly embody Disney World’s transportation systems. Yes, this is the post you never knew you needed. You’re very, very welcome.

Disney World

Between waiting in long lines, eating our DOLE Whips, and perhaps a little too much standing in the sun, we were struck with the brilliant idea of seeing just what celebrities embody the characteristics of Disney World’s iconic transportation — we’re talking buses, the monorail, and more. What can we say? You do your best thinking in the shower or after a deliriously long day at Disney World — those are simply the rules.

So, buckle up, because this is a wild ride from start to finish. (Come on, we couldn’t resist a transportation joke!) Let’s hop right into it.

Ticket and Transportation Center

Harry Styles as the Monorail

Ahhh…the monorail. It might be THE main form of transportation you think of when it comes to Disney World. It often features some pretty cool decals (a.k.a. outfits). It’s popular and iconic, pretty much everyone knows what it is, and it’s a fun experience (totally a free ride) in and of itself.

Plus, it can pierce you right in the center of your being — okay, it only really “pierces” through the center of the Contemporary Resort but you get the idea.

That all sounds just like someone else we know…Harry Styles! He’s known for his bold style and fun performances, he’s a household name, and at this point, we feel pretty comfortable saying the guy is iconic. While he may have started as part of One Direction, he’s broken out on his own now and can really put on a show all on his own (with the help of his crew, of course).

Plus he and his music can sometimes really pierce you right in the feels — like a monorail to the heart, but in the best way possible.

Oh, and his songs get stuck in your head, just like the monorail announcements. If you’re a fan, you can probably recite some of his lyrics just as quickly as the monorail spiel.

Now, if only the monorail could get a look as fabulous as his pink get-up above…

2. Paul Rudd as the Bus Transportation System

Disney World buses are tried and true — ol’ reliable. They’ll take you nearly anywhere on property, and often times the drivers greet you with a friendly smile. The Disney buses have been around the block a time or two (literally) but they’re consistently there for you at the end of a long day in the parks.

They might not be as fancy or flashy as the Skyliner, or quite as unique or iconic as the monorail, but they’re the kind, friendly sight you need at the end of a long day.

Sounds exactly like Paul Rudd, right? He’s very much your “boy next door” type. He might not be as flashy as Tom Cruise or as buff as Chris Hemsworth, but he will give you a solid performance time after time, he’s constantly working on charity projects, and is, in many ways, a real-life superhero. Reliable, kind, and there when you need him — Paul Rudd is the very best qualities of a Disney bus embodied in an ageless human.

Disney buses might not be the newest kid on the block, but they know what they’re doing and they’re here to do it with a smile, which gives us Paul Rudd vibes.

Dwayne Johnson as Watercraft Services

The Watercraft Services are sometimes looked over at Disney World, but are pretty reliable, sturdy, and a fun experience. They’ll let you take a load off and put up those feet while getting you where you need to go in a relaxed way, out on the water. Plus, the boat drivers can sometimes make the experience even more fun with endless jokes or random facts.

And if you really want to go all out, you could book a private boat ride to take matters into your own hands and add some flair to your day or evening at Disney. Captain of your own little boat? Don’t mind if you do.

The celebrity who we feel matches the boats at Disney World is…Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. When you sit back and really think about it, you might just realize how many iconic films he’s been in and how much you enjoyed that movie you watched with him in it. Plus, that humor is something that could totally fit in with the boat captains at Disney World.

The Rock is also big and buff — he seems like just the person to let you take a load off as he gets you where you need to go, just like the boats. And he did star in The Jungle Cruise, so the idea of getting a private watercraft rental would totally fit.

Also, we just had to pay homage to Maui stealing Moana’s boat and put The Rock out on the water. 😉

Lady Gaga as Disney’s Skyliner

The Skyliner isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But, many people know what it is, it’s pretty hard to miss as it floats along through the sky, it can be very fun (for those not afraid of its more “out-there” features — like how it floats through the sky), it’s innovative, and it’s the “flashy” kid on the block in terms of Disney transportation.

But let’s face it — it’s sometimes super impractical. It doesn’t always take you where you need to go, it can close during bad weather, and it has had its fair share of dramatic incidents (Skyliner crashes).

To us, this is a good match for Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is unique and many view her as a talented, innovative, and creative singer and musician. Her performances are pretty hard to miss with some of those more unique and eye-catching elements.

And her outfit designs can sometimes be really bold and dramatic (albeit sometimes a little less than practical).

Lizzo as Minnie Vans

Finally, we get to Minnie Vans. These are a more deluxe option in the Disney transportation world, so don’t mistake them for your average car or bus. They’re a bit of a splurge seeing as they are a form of Disney transportation that costs extra, but they come with some big perks.

They’re private, they include a friendly Cast Member as a driver who can give you all kinds of tips, they can get you to places that might otherwise be difficult or annoying to get to through the free Disney transportation, and sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself and just feel comfortable and relaxed during a long Disney day.

Minnie Van

What celebrity is a bit extra sometimes but can make others feel comfortable and relaxed? Lizzo! This singer preaches to the masses to love themselves (#TreatYourself), and can often make listeners feel empowered and comfortable with themselves just as they are.

The Minnie Vans aren’t trying to be something they aren’t. They aren’t attempting to be the flashy Skyliner or iconic monorail. They’re fancy cars, but they’re fancy cars that do what you need them to do in STYLE. And if you’re listening to Lizzo and feel like it’s about time to treat yourself to something nice, THIS is the stylish ride you need to try. Now, if we could just have Lizzo make jokes and sing to us as our Minnie Van driver, things would really be amazing.
