HUGE Update on Trail’s End Restaurant Closure in Disney World

UPDATE: Trail’s End Restaurant closed in April 2023. It will be updated as part of a larger project that will include cabin and pool upgrades at Fort Wilderness. You can read more about that project here

There are a lot of Disney World changes happening this year.

Expedition Everest

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently under refurbishment, TRON Lightcycle / Run is in its soft opening, and a new restaurant has opened in Hollywood Studios. But we’ve still got 9 months of this year to go, and there’s an update on a restaurant going under refurbishment later this year.

Trail’s End Restaurant is located in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and it’s set to close later this year. While the restaurant won’t be going away completely, it will be changing from a table-service restaurant to “a marketplace concept with expanded quick service options.”

Originally there had been no times showing for this restaurant past April 17th, but now there are times showing through May 7th.

However, there are no times showing on May 8th and beyond, meaning that the last day to dine at this spot could be May 7th. Disney has not confirmed an official date for this closure, so we’ll keep you updated on exactly when the restaurant will close.

However, just like we’ve seen in the past, this could change. We’ll be keeping a close eye on it, so stay tuned to AllEars!

  1. I too will miss Trail’s End. On every trip to DW we’d take the boat from Magic Kingdom and eat here at least once. The food and service were always good. I’d say it was one of the better restaurants in DW. Plus, it was quiet especially compared to the dining options inside Magic Kingdom. Everytime we would go to Trails Inn it was crowded, so I don’t understand the need for it to close.

  2. I will miss this place. It was my actual favorite Disney restaurant. It is sad that it will be turned into another boring food court.
