3 Updates That Could Lead to BIG Changes in Disney World

When was the last time you visited Disney World?

We’re in the parks every day and even sometimes we get exhausted keeping up with the latest changes and updates — but we do it for you! We spotted some clues to possible construction projects happening around the parks and resorts, so let’s check them out!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort

We already knew about quite a few changes happening throughout the BoardWalk Resort, like updated rooms, changes to the lobby, new restaurants, and more. We’ve been keeping up with all of those changes, but we spotted a few recently filed permits that indicate more changes are coming.

It looks like some of the pool and bar area might be getting a bit of work done, along with the laundry and snack bar too. While we’re not sure what exactly this might entail, it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve got an upcoming stay planned at the BoardWalk.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

If you’re staying at Fort Wilderness soon, there may be some construction that interrupts your stay. A permit was filed on March 21st that indicates some fiber optic cables are being installed on the campgrounds.

According to the filing, the fiber optics are being placed at each campsite, so eventually, each site will be affected. Make sure you check before your trip if you have something planned for this resort, but chances are Disney will make the proper accommodations ahead of time.

Blizzard Beach Water Park

Right now, Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment — so it’s really no surprise that there’s construction happening. We checked out this permit filed recently that shows some “general conditions” or construction would be taking place near the front of the park.

TOO cute

Blizzard Beach was closed for quite a while in 2022 and Disney took the time to make some improvements, including adding new Frozen-inspired elements to the park. Disney World has not announced what kind of refurbishment the water park will undergo or if there will be more re-theming, but we’ll keep an eye out for more details. In the meantime, Typhoon Lagoon will be open!
