It’s officially the last day of 2022, and plenty of people have chosen to end their year — and ring in a new one — in Disney World. Just how crowded are the parks on New Year’s Eve? Let’s take a look!

What better way to ring in the New Year than by kicking it off in Disney World?! People flock to the parks to check out the special fireworks and entertainment, and we’re here to see just how busy Disney World is on New Year’s Eve.

Most of the New Year’s Eve festivities take place at night, but we headed in early to scope things out. And at midday, Magic Kingdom was looking…not too busy?

As the parade made its way down Main Street, U.S.A., crowds did begin to form, which is not a surprise for the parade!

However, wait times weren’t too shabby — especially for a holiday! The longer waits topped out at two hours, which isn’t abnormal even during non-holidays now.

For New Year’s Eve, Magic Kingdom hosts the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks, with one showing at 6:30PM and another at 11:50PM. For the earlier showing, crowds picked up significantly…

In general, wait times and crowds were actually looking a little busier over at EPCOT, who has its own fireworks show at 11:50PM.

We expect the EPCOT crowds will only increase as we get further into the night and closer to midnight!
