MCO Airport!

With the holidays only days away, Disney has been busy with new merchandise for the New Year, holiday snacks, and fluctuating holiday crowds. Now with some strange weather approaching this holiday season, your travel plans to Walt Disney World might be impacted!

Starting Thursday, December 22nd, strong winter storms are expected to come in from the Plains and the Midwest all the way to the East Coast. The storms are predicted to have strong winds, flooding, snow, and ice. Although it might not be snowing in Florida, these storms could still impact your flights to and from Orlando!

According to Fox35 Orlando, the Orlando International Airport canceled dozens of flights and delayed over 200 flights. Whether you’re coming or going to Disney World, these storms could continue to impact flights over the next several days. The Sanford International Airport is now encouraging anyone traveling to call their specific airline before heading to the airport.

Sanford is also encouraging travelers to come to the airport at least 2-3 hours early to accommodate the large number of people traveling this holiday season. Due to the storm, Delta, Alaska, Frontier, American, United, Southwest, and other airlines are waiving fees for changing flights as well as offering passengers the choice to switch flights to avoid the storm.
