November has been a month of transition for Disney as it welcomes back Bob Iger as CEO.

So far, we’ve learned a lot about why Chapek was replaced with Iger, what changes could come to Disney, and details on Chapek’s exit from the company. Now, we’re learning more about Iger’s plans for the company through a Town Hall meeting he held for employees.
At the meeting, Iger answered many questions asked by employees regarding Park Pass Reservations, the rumored merge with Apple, the hiring freeze, and more. He also commented on some of the recent controversy surrounding Disney.

When asked about the tense relationship between Disney and Florida, Iger said, “I had no idea what its ramifications are in terms of the business itself,” regarding the dissolution of the Reedy Creek District, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He added that he needs to learn more about the situation.
Iger went on to say, “The state of Florida has been very important to us for a long time, and we have been very important to the state of Florida.” After Disney’s response to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, Florida began the process of the dissolution of Disney’s Reedy Creek District, which houses Disney World.

Iger also answered a question about Disney taking political stances saying, “I think there’s a misperception here about what politics is.” He continued saying, “Some of the subjects that have been proven to be controversial as it relates to Disney have been branded political, and I don’t think they are.”

Iger added, “Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not.” Then he noted that he will try to “quiet things down.” During Chapek’s time as CEO, he saw many controversies and backlash from fans based on changes in the theme parks.

What do you think about Bob Iger returning to Disney as CEO? Tell us in the comments.
I’ll believe it when I see it, in terms of the rhetoric quieting down. We live in a world where respect doesn’t matter. Good institutions are getting steamrolled under the pretext of faster paced social change. I fear these movements as in most all movements really manifest into obtaining mor power, and we the people continue to forfeit our liberties. Best of luck Bob.
Too bad that families and seniors cannot afford to go to Disney World.
