NEWS: Disney World Counties Now Under Tropical Storm Watch

It’s currently hurricane season and it seems that it will have a big impact on Florida soon.

Rainy Day

We’ve been following Hurricane Ian since it became a Tropical Storm last week. Since then, Florida has declared a state of emergency for the storm, cities are being told to evacuate, and airports are preparing for the storm. Now, Disney World counties have issued a warning about the weather coming to Florida.

Disney World is located in two counties — Orange County and Osceola County. According to the National Weather Service, both of these counties are currently under Tropical Storm Watch.

So what does that mean? Well, an area goes under Tropical Storm Watch when tropical storm conditions are likely going to hit the area within the next 48 hours.

The wind in these counties is currently below tropical storm-force winds. The peak wind forecast for today is 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph, however there is potential for wind 58 to 73 mph. According to WESH, Central Florida is expected to get 8 to 10 inches of rainfall.
