RUN to Gideon's Bakehouse to Get a SECRET Treat in Disney Springs

Perhaps you’ve delved into the hidden secrets of Magic Kingdom generally. But there’s a NEW secret at Disney World you may not know about — and it will score you a delicious snack!

For this secret experience, you’ll need to visit Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs. Did you know that before Gideon’s became such a big staple, it first appeared as a pop-up shop at East End Market that was meant to just be there for a month and then leave? Gideon’s shared the story on Instagram:

“Six years ago this week, I showed up for that little pop-up experience with no idea what I was doing. I prepped three weeks’ worth of cookie dough that all sold out on the first day. The only money I had was the cash I made each day, and I would run to Costco after close, purchasing what I could and prepping all night for the next day. ”

The community, though, knew those cookies were something special, and people have been standing in line for them, both at the original location and the Disney Springs location ever since.

In honor of that “secret anniversary” of the start of Gideon’s Bakehouse, Gideon’s is offering up a special cake slice TODAY ONLY.

It’s a Pistachio Cream Cheese Cake that features Pistachio Cheesecake Frosting over three layers of Pistachio Vanilla Cake. But you have to know what to say to get it. You can go to the Disney Springs location and wish them a “Happy Secret Anniversary” to get your hands on a slice. (The cake has SOLD OUT at the East End Market location already.)

Like many of Gideon’s special treats, this one is only available in limited supplies, so you’ll want to be quick to grab it.

If you’ve never been to Gideon’s, know that if things are busy, you’ll probably have to provide your phone number to join a virtual queue. The shop is small, so only so many people can fit in it at any given time and this spot is very popular. However, you’ll get a text once they’re ready for you, so you can do some shopping while you’re waiting!
