We Were SHOCKED by the Price on This Disney x COACH 50th Anniversary Mug

Disney has been on a ROLL with ridiculously expensive merchandise lately!

We’ve seen multiple pricey collections (including things like $1000 ears!) released for the 50th Anniversary, but one of the most popular was the COACH collaboration. The collection first dropped a few months ago with ears, bags, and even expensive t-shirts…but there’s one item included that’s shockingly cheap.

Today, we spotted the Mickey Mouse Walt Disney World Mug by COACH on shopDisney, and to be honest, we were a little surprised by the price tag. In a collection where everything else is priced through the roof, this mug is oddly affordable at $35.

To be fair, that’s still a little bit exorbitant for a mug (Disney ones are typically less than $25), but when you compare it to the price of other COACH items, we were expecting it to be more like a $100 mug!

To put it in perspective a little, the Mickey ears in this line were a whopping $295, and the backpack was priced at $595. Even the KEYCHAIN was expensive — it was available online for $165. With price tags like that, you really can’t blame us for expecting the mug to be more overpriced.

But in all fairness, you’re definitely paying for the brand name here. Disney also has fairly expensive items when they release collections with Dooney & Bourke or HARVEYS, so this isn’t a new phenomenon. And even if we don’t feel like spending hundreds on a theme park souvenir, it’s usually pretty fun to just gawk at those price tags!
