Disney Reportedly Sets Vaccine Mandate Deadline for Cast Members

To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Disney has modified its health and safety guidelines based on the current status of the country; updating the policy both for guests and Cast Members. Recently, the Disney Cruise Line alterted its COVID-19 policy, and Disneyland Paris now requires a Vaccine Pass to enter the parks.

Disney has remained flexible in all areas of the company — from Hong Kong Disneyland to Disney California Adventure, each resort has its own unique situation to contend with. Now, we’ve got an update on Disneyland’s Cast Member health and safety guidelines.

In Florida, Disney World’s previous Cast Member vaccine mandate was put on hold back in November. Since then, there have been no updates or announcements regarding vaccination status.

Over in Anaheim, California, home to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, the rules are a little different. According to an article on Deadline, Local 50 (a Disneyland employee union) posted a statement on its Facebook page stating that Disney is enforcing a vaccine mandate for Cast Members in California.

Deadline cites Local 50’s Facebook post, which stated that the deadline will be “April 11th to have verification of vaccination submitted.”

Both salaried and non-union Cast Members were informed that they would need to be fully vaccinated back in July 2021, and Deadline reported that since then, Disney has been in talks with unions to come to an agreement. For Cast Members in these unions, the current deadline to comply with the vaccine mandate is March 28th, 2022.

Cast Members who need a vaccine will be given the opportunity to get vaccinated on-site in Anaheim.

Keep in mind that Disneyland does not have any sort of vaccine mandate for guests, and proof of vaccination is not currently required to enter the parks. Instead, guests are encouraged to “self-attest that they are in compliance” with the state’s current guidelines.

  1. Can you let me know if DisneyWorld is requiring their cast members to be vaccinated? All I can find in my research is they didn’t back in December but it’s confusing since I thought Florida said they couldn’t mandate?
