Recently, the CDC and other experts have been advising an increase in health and safety precautions.
This comes as a reaction to a surge in COVID-19 cases and especially with cases of the new Omicron variant. In light of the recent surge in cases, one popular entertainment awards show has decided to postpone this year’s annual event.
This year’s 64th Annual Grammy Awards Ceremony has been postponed by CBS and the Recording Academy, according to the Orange County Register.
This event was going to happen inside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on January 31st, but it will instead take place at a later date. A new date for this year’s Grammy Awards has not yet been announced.
You can also find this announcement on the official Grammy website. Here, CBS and the Recording Academy stated that “the health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31 simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating ‘Music’s Biggest Night’ on a future date, which will be announced soon.”
