Even MORE Southwest Airlines Flights Are Being Canceled

It has been a particularly busy weekend for travel, considering that many people received a long weekend for Columbus Day.

Unfortunately, this weekend has also been riddled with issues for those who booked flights with Southwest Airlines, considering more than 1000 flights were canceled on Sunday alone. Now, it looks like even more cancellations may be on the horizon.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Southwest Airlines has already canceled 348 flights for today, so those who are traveling may want to double-check their plans. At the beginning of the weekend, the airline issued a statement noting that the cancellations were due to weather conditions at Florida airports and “unexpected air traffic control issues.”

The airline also shared that “We’ve continued diligent work throughout the weekend to reset our operation with a focus on getting aircraft and crews repositioned to take care of our customers.” Guests who have upcoming flights can explore self-service rebooking options and check the status of their flights on Southwest.com.
