Disney Stores have been a go-to spot for fans to do their shopping when they can’t make it into the parks to pick up the latest merchandise. But, Disney has slowly been closing these locations over the past year.

The closures began in March when Disney announced that 20% of Disney Stores would be closing (including the original location), and now we’ve got an update on the remaining stores.
Disney just announced that more Disney Stores will be closing on or before September 15th this year. The closures will impact 57 total stores around the U.S. including popular locations like the Disney Store at the Florida Mall and California’s Brea Mall.

After these stores close there will be 25 remaining Disney Stores across 15 different states. And, you can find out if a store near you will be impacted by the closures by visiting shopDisney and searching by your zip code in the Store Locator.

But, there will soon be different spots to shop for the latest Disney merchandise locally as Target announced today that it will be acquiring more Disney shops at its stores by the holiday season. Plus, shopDisney and the Target Disney Store will still be available online for guests to purchase Disney toys, plushes, home goods, costumes, and even a few items from the parks.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the Disney Store closures moving forward. And, you can stay tuned with All Ears for the latest Disney entertainment and news coming soon!

All our stores in NJ closed except for one – not convenient to get to – the online Disney store is a disappointment in comparison – they do not sell a lot of what was in the actual Disney stores – Disney Corporation says they are going to give more attention to making the online site better. I have not seen that at all – merchandise online is limited, very few options in sizes (clothing), just a wee bit of park merchandise. It is a disappointment that Disney has not lived up to it’s promise. Target’s new Disney is a disappointment. It’s not a Disney store.
I was in my local Disney store at the mall yesterday and beyond upset and angry that they are closing in a few weeks. My local Target is NOT planning a Disney shop…I shopped for grandchildren there…not an online shopper…picture doesnt let me see the quality of the fabric…inspect the item to decide if it is worth the money….holding the mug in my hand to see if it has a comfortable feel on the handle when many mugs do not…I could go on and on. Disney is not losing money so not sure why they think this is a good idea.As a hi risk senior and Florida being a hot bed of Covid infections with so many unvaccinated…I can’t risk a trip to WDW either.
This sucks I was very angry when the MOA one closed I shopped there every weekend and hate shopping on line!
So sad. A small section in another store is not at all the same. Disney Stores made it possible for people nowhere near a park to have a small fraction of the Disney experience.
Yup. The end of an era.
