Recently, we’ve seen some restrictions and face covering mandates reinstated as COVID-19 cases rise.

Amid the rise in cases, the United States is considering more policies to monitor and control infections. One possibility is to require all foreign visitors to be fully vaccinated before they arrive in the US. Here’s what we know so far about this policy.
According to Reuters, the Biden administration is currently working on a plan to “require nearly all foreign visitors to the United States to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as part of eventually lifting travel restrictions.”They’re hoping to lift the heavy travel restrictions that are currently in place so that people can once again visit the United States, boosting the travel and tourism industries.

Currently, “most non-US citizens who within the last 14 days have been in the United Kingdom, the 26 Schengen nations in Europe without border controls, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil” are not permitted to travel to the US (Reuters). Some countries, like Canada and the UK, are easing travel restrictions for vaccinated US citizens. Right now, only essential workers are allowed to cross into the US from Canada and Mexico.

A White House official told Reuters, the Biden administration has groups working to have a new system in place for when travel restrictions are lifted. According to the official, the plan will include a “phased approach that over time will mean, with limited exceptions, that foreign nationals traveling to the United States (from all countries) need to be fully vaccinated.”
We will continue to monitor the situation and bring you the latest updates and policies that may impact your Disney World trip.
