The 6 Fan Theories You Need to Read After Episode Two of Marvel’s ‘Loki’

Well, that episode of Marvel’s Loki was something, wasn’t it? 👀

We’ve been reeling after all those giant revelations that were dropped in episode two. And, that means our theory train has been chugging ahead at FULL speed. But, we aren’t the only ones who have thoughts on what could be taking place in Loki, because we’re breaking down 6 fan theories you NEED to know!

The Time Keepers Don’t Exist

Before we dive into the final moments of this week’s episode, one of the lines that we think is the most telling about the Time Variance Authority came from Agent C20 after she had been overtaken by the Loki Variant. She kept muttering “It’s real” to herself over and over again, which leads us to believe she was most likely talking about the multiverse. Since she went through all the training and work to ensure that the Sacred Timeline would remain intact, this would be an earth-shattering revelation.

It would mean that the TVA’s efforts were pointless, because the multiverse would still exist, no matter what. Besides, the TVA itself is pretty flighty when it comes to explaining the Sacred Timeline, other than the cookie cutter Miss Minutes commercial. Ravonna has time and time again refused to explain her reasoning behind judgments, meaning that she won’t let anybody interact with the Time Keepers.

So, that begs the question — are the Time Keepers even real? The Time Keepers may not be alive at this point, for all we know. The TVA could be using them as an excuse to make sure their own agenda of keeping the Sacred Timeline intact is followed through. Mobius has alluded to this possibility by stating that as long as he believes the Time Keepers are real, they must be real enough.

And, if he chose to think too hard about it, then maybe he would see that something just doesn’t add up about his bosses.

Kang the Conqueror’s Involvement

So, who is really in charge? Well, we’ve got thoughts that Judge Ravonna Renslayer is actually Kang the Conqueror’s one true love. Since Kang already had a history with the TVA in the comic books, it makes sense that maybe he has taken over the bureaucracy himself. As a matter of fact, he does kill off the Time Keepers in the comics. And, it wouldn’t surprise us if he did that in order to “conquer” the TVA now, placing the love of his life at the helm of operations.

Since Jonathan Majors will be playing Kang the Conqueror in the next Ant-Man and the Wasp film, it just seems a little TOO on the nose that one of the Time Keeper statues in Ravonna’s office resembles the actor.

WandaVision‘s Caused by the Events in Loki

In case you need a bit of a reminder, the end of WandaVision placed Wanda in a cabin where she was reading the Darkhold in her astral form. During these final moments of the series, we hear Billy and Tommy call out to her after she had to remove them, along with the WestView hex. And, it’s important to note that there have already been tie-ins between the two series since they mention Nexus Events.

Since Wanda is a Nexus Being, she is under constant surveillance by the TVA. But, when Lady Loki (or whoever she may be) lets primed reset charges loose throughout the Sacred Timeline, there are too many Nexus Events for the TVA to handle. That means this could be the EXACT moment that Wanda is able to hear her sons’ voices calling out to her. The amount of Nexus Events unfolding would create a multiverse, prompting a possible timeline where Billy and Tommy are alive.

©Marvel

We already have an idea that the multiverses aren’t really going to be able to be shut off, considering the next Doctor Strange film is titled the “Multiverse of Madness.” As the TVA may have previously had a handle on the alternate timelines, the actions of Lady Loki would cause the bureaucracy to lose control over any of the timelines. And, of course, that would lead to “madness” with too many alternate realities operating at once.

As Wanda works alongside Doctor Strange, Loki would serve as the perfect kickstarter to the film. But, we still have PLENTY of details to figure out as Loki moves forward with its inaugural season.

Who Is Lady Loki?

We know you were probably just as shocked as we were when the Variant removed her hood to reveal her identity as Lady Loki. Well, maybe Lady Loki. Since many fans have theorized that Richard E. Grant would be joining the Loki cast as King Loki, his mystery role would tie in with another version of Loki. And, since Marvel made it clear that Loki was gender fluid, the idea that Sophia Di Martino is playing Lady Loki has clearly been hinted at recently. This would even give way for a young Loki to appear, leading into the speculated Young Avengers films.

©Disney

However, there is still another major possibility that Di Martino could be playing the Enchantress. The appearance of the Variant we saw resembles this comic book character more with blonde hair, instead of Loki’s dark hair. Despite Loki’s strong powers, the Variant we see in this episode has an additional set of skills as she’s able to use enchantments to possess others and probe their minds.

©Disney/Marvel

One of the versions of the Enchantress is actually a sorceress created by Loki. Her identity as Sylvie Lushton has also been hinted at so far in Loki, since a foreign language dub of episode 2 didn’t list Sophia Di Martino’s character as “The Variant” but rather “Sylvie” instead. Yet, there’s also the possibility that Marvel could combine both Lady Loki and the Enchantress into one character. This is evident in Loki’s files, where there is a page referencing on a Loki Variant named “Sylvie Laufeydottir.” This would mean that Laufey, the King of the Frost Giants, had a daughter instead of a son.

©Disney

Then, there would most likely be a similar chain of events where she was adopted by Odin on Asgard. But, Sylvie most likely would have had an entirely different experience as a woman on Asgard. She could have taken more time to dive into the elements of sorcery she clearly can control, rather than competing with Thor or attempting to overtake Asgard.

Could Mobius Be in a Time Loop?

Since the TVA is able to rewind interactions with Variants, Mobius could be in a continuous time loop as he tries to fix issues with Loki. During the events we see unfold, Loki goes after the Variant and leaves the TVA behind. But, most likely, that’s not the only outcome that has happened as Mobius could have reset the timeline multiple times to figure out how to save the Sacred Timeline and prevent Loki from causing chaos.

Yet, the specific timeline we are in has thrown in a few loops that are new, including the kid and the bubble gum in the church, details on hiding in apocalypses, and more. Mobius has had to fix the mistakes that have been made to make sure that things are kept in order. And, this would make perfect sense as to why he felt alright with Loki seeing his future.

©Disney/Marvel

In that case, Loki would be able to quickly learn from his future mistakes prior to making them, as he works to make a real difference in his current situation. Of course, it would also provide Mobius with answers about how to fix everything, thus ending his time loop.

The TVA Isn’t What You’d Think

The TVA’s agents are VERY diligent to the cause. They are so involved, in fact, that they are willing to risk their lives for the Sacred Timeline. But, anyone with actual free will and understanding may have second guesses about the TVA’s secrets. So, do the agents even have free will? Maybe not. There’s a possibility that the TVA’s agents “reset” captured variants, wiped their memories, and made them soldiers to the cause basically.

©Disney

We’ve already had iffy feelings about the TVA as the organization seems sketchy at best. These hidden, more sinister intentions would reinforce the reasons behind Sylvie’s attacks. The knowledge she has about the TVA could stem from two possible situations. The first one would be that Sylvie was a TVA agent at one point who Mobius recruited. This position may have given her information about the TVA, causing her to escape and want to bring the entire bureaucracy down. She would seek revenge for her initial “resetting” or brainwashing, as well as halting them from doing this to others.

©Disney/Marvel

It’s already been revealed that she knows how to find the Time Keepers, which is top secret information. And, that leads us to the possibility that Sylvie was never captured. But, she learned of insider information by probing the minds of someone with a higher position. In this way, she would realize that the TVA is problematic and needed to be stopped.

©Marvel

Specifically, she even told Loki that “it’s not about you,” which makes us consider the fact that Sylvie isn’t trying to bring it down for specific people. She is trying to destroy the TVA for EVERYONE, multiverses included. But, we’re sure that there will be serious consequences to the choices she made.
