The U.S. News & World Report has reported that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters can still control the local affiliate in charge of Disney performers. Recently, the leader was removed due to complaints that there was mismanagement of Disney’s entertainment Cast Members, according to a federal judge.

The Orlando-based Local 365 represents thousands of key workers as part of central Florida’s tourism industry. Last week, U.S. District Carlos Mendoza refused to end a trusteeship for the union after Gary Brown, a previous officer of Local 385, filed a lawsuit in February that stated the takeover had been stretched out for too longe, according to U.S. News & World Report.

While the lawsuit wanted to end the trusteeship and elect in new officers as soon as possible, a judge ruled that the International Brotherhood of Teamsters could hold the elections in the summer. The case hasn’t been dismissed to ensure that these elections are held by the end of August. The judge also ruled that these delays could easily be blamed on the pandemic.
