All the Health and Safety Precautions We Saw at Universal Hollywood’s Reopening

It’s Universal Hollywood’s reopening day, and we’ve been taking you with us around the park!

Hi, Universal Hollywood!

Similar to Universal Orlando, the California-based theme park will be following strict health and safety guidelines. That means guests will be required to wear masks in the parks, participate in temperature checks, and more. And, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about the guidelines before you head back to Universal Hollywood!

Entrance

When we arrived at the parking garage to start our day, guests were able to self-serve when they parked. So, while we saw people parked in every row, that could change later on. Guests were directed towards the CityWalk entrance and designated to keep left as they exited the parking garage.

The health and safety signs around Universal’s CityWalk enforced the physical distancing measures, mask mandates, and hand-washing stations that are in place around the park.

And, then guests had to also undergo temperature checks prior to entering Universal Hollywood. Currently, only California residents are able to visit the park. While they didn’t check that we had proof of residency, we still recommend bringing it in case they do need proof on top of scanning your park tickets.

Distancing Measures

Similar to Universal Orlando, distancing markers were placed on the ground in both CityWalk and Universal Hollywood.

Traffic flow was maintained throughout the park by showing which side of the street to walk on…

Designated Dining Areas

Guests aren’t able to eat or drink around the entire park, even if they are stationary and distanced. Instead, they must head to a designated dining area specifically to have a snack or drink when they are hopping around Universal Hollywood.

The queues were operating with markers that kept parties six feet apart from one another while they waited in line.

As we waited for spots like the Universal Studios Tram Tour, we noticed that they were seating in every other row. Of course, we’ll keep you updated about the other ride protocols as we make our way around the park!

We also noticed that the NEW Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash attraction was operating with a Virtual Queue to help limit crowds.

We were able to score a spot for a 1 PM to 1:15 PM window, so we’ll give you a look inside the newly released ride when we visit for the first time!
