Universal is building a new theme park! Universal will have a new theme park and resort in Bedford, United Kingdom, which is 45 miles north of London!

They’ve just filed permits to start construction for the new park. To begin, they’ll improve infrastructure in and around the site to support future construction!
Universal UK’s first step is to build a new water treatment facility. It will utilise a sustainable process to reuse and recycle water without taking the city’s resources. They will also enhance water management by capturing rainwater to reuse and prevent flooding.

They’ll also build a new electrical energy plant. It will provide the park with low-carbon heating and cooling with the capacity to power more future projects in the area. Plus, there will be a new electricity substation system to transfer the energy from the plant to the resort.

There will also be new transportation improvements. Universal will build one of the UK’s largest electric vehicle charging facilities for guests. Universal will also provide a fleet of private EVs to bring guests from local transportation hubs to the resort. Plus, an expanded Wixams railway station, direct slip roads from the A421, and other local road improvements will make getting there much easier for guests.

We don’t have many details on the Universal UK resort just yet. Universal promises several themed lands in the theme park with retail, dining, and entertainment spots, plus a new resort on-site. Rumoured lands and attractions are themed to Lord of the Rings, James Bond, Despicable Me, Paddington, and more – but nothing is confirmed yet by Universal.

We’re so excited for the new Universal UK resort. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Universal updates!

Beyond excited! I live less than 15 minutes away and it is so exciting for (nearly) everyone around here! Good to see that this keeps moving forward and look forward to learning more details. I was near the site a little while ago and you can already see some signs of activity and hopefully that will increase as the weather improves.
