It’s been a roller coaster of emotions as we’ve watched WandaVision. The first few episodes drew us in with all the different decades and hidden details. And, the final episode made us question what was in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

Although we aren’t sure if WandaVision will be receiving a second season, the first did set up a LOT of details about where Disney and Marvel could be steering the films and series in the future. And, we’re breaking down all our thoughts about what events WandaVision could be a catalyst for in the MCU!
Agatha’s (Very Likely) Return
Honestly, one of our favorite parts of WandaVision was the character of Agatha Harkness. Her role as Agnes was comedic and heartwarming before she took a hard left turn into the power-hungry witch she revealed herself to be. Agatha, though, clearly has an immense amount of intelligence, so we can’t help but think that she had a much bigger plan than just WestView.

She’s been quiet for 300 hundred years, probably sucking up powers from unsuspecting witches along the way. You can’t put anything past someone who destroys her entire coven. While Agatha clearly wanted to take Wanda’s Chaos Magic for herself, there wasn’t a massive reveal about exactly WHY.

If Agatha had the powers of a Scarlet Witch, she would basically be more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme (maybe even becoming a Nexus Being herself). Of course, Agatha wouldn’t tell Wanda her multi-step plan for her grand take-over when they were battling. But, it’s likely that there were other intentions behind-the-scenes.

Yes, Agatha may have underestimated Wanda’s ability to actually control her Chaos Magic. Yet, do you REALLY think she would go into WestView without a back-up plan? In the finale, Wanda turns Agatha into “Agnes” from then on. This gives her access to the witch, potentially in case she needs more details about being the Scarlet Witch.

It’s important to remember, though, that Agatha does have consciousness under this spell. Even if she isn’t outwardly exhibiting that she’s Agatha Harkness, her own thoughts and emotions have the capability of reaching a boiling point. And, if we were trapped in our own mind, we would be VERY angry and looking for revenge.

Agatha will have plenty of time to come up with a revenge scheme of her own against Wanda as she walks about WestView with a forced smile on her face. In the comics, Agatha actually does train Wanda, so she could easily return to do just that.

But, we’re not so sure all of her lessons will be helpful after the position Wanda has trapped her in currently. We have a feeling we’ll be seeing Agatha sometime soon, whether it’s as soon as Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness or not.
The Expanse of the MCU
We know, we know. We were ALL holding out hope for the involvement of outside Marvel franchises in WandaVision after Evan Peters reprised his role as Quicksilver. But, we aren’t ready to give up just yet! Monica Rambeau made a few nods towards an appearance of Reed Richards from Fantastic Four, while there was a BIG clue towards the X-Men joining the MCU.

WandaVision didn’t reveal details about the Multiverse as Evan Peters’s character was revealed to be one Ralph Bohner (Agnes’s “husband”). Yet, Marvel usually has a few tricks up their sleeves, so we still think that Evan Peters actually could have been Peter Maximoff… just not in the right universe.

We’ll be getting plenty of answers about multiverses with the next Doctor Strange film, but we’ve already been questioning how they might work. Can people identify as other identities in various multiverses? For example, does Peter Maximoff identify under that name in the X-Men realm, but Ralph Bohner in the part of the MCU we’ve seen?

Yet, that does make us wonder… how would Ralph Bohner be able to use powers? We’re not so sure that Agatha could give him Quicksilver’s speed. So, does that mean he ACTUALLY is Peter Maximoff, but under the control of another villain? We’ve got our fingers crossed that Marvel will give us answers in the near future.
Potential Involvement of A.I.M. or Hydra
Hayward might be in custody of the F.B.I., but we’re not buying that he won’t be back. And, we’re pretty convinced that S.W.O.R.D. might be infiltrated at this point. Vision’s body was being experimented on well in advance of WandaVision, hinting towards the fact that operatives were already attempting to build a weapon of destruction.

It was only convenient that Wanda’s powers were the kick-starter they needed to activate White Vision with all of the tools, but none of the emotion. If that mission had succeeded, Wanda would have been killed and White Vision would have been hailed as a “helpful tool.” Hayward had already been tracking Vision’s movements prior to the finale, making us question what the future would have (or may still hold) for White Vision.

We’ve already said that Hayward’s name seems to be an anagram for Hydra, and all those references in the show’s commercials seem to be poignant. While he could be a Hydra operative, there’s also the possibility the mad scientist organization A.I.M. is present at S.W.O.R.D.

A.I.M. uses hexagons in its own logo, so the Hex could be a hint at the overarching and undercover sinister nature of the organization. And, a weapon like White Vision would definitely be a tool that could be used for mass destruction in the wrong hands. And, Hayward? We’d say that his are the wrong hands — no questions asked.

As Hydra resurfaces in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we’ll have to find out where the organization currently fits into the MCU.
White Vision’s New Role
White Vision showed up in WestView, made a big fuss with everyone, and then just…flew away. It was a bit of an anti-climactic appearance in the show (especially since White Vision caused MAJOR problems in the comics), but we doubt this is the end for the character. Now that White Vision has had his memories restored, he could easily be self-neutralized somewhere or in hiding.

He may even appear when Wanda needs aid next, or he could be discovered and taken into custody. Honestly, we would LOVE it if White Vision somehow played the part of a spy to give the new era of Avengers detail on whatever sinister forces are at play. As Wanda and Vision noted in their final moments together that they would see each other again someday, Marvel probably has a few ideas about where their story will go next.

White Vision may not have the emotional intelligence that the previous did, but we’ve got hopes that he could develop those thoughts and feelings in the future.
Monica Rambeau’s Debut as Spectrum
Monica hasn’t officially been given her “Spectrum” superhero name, but we are counting down moments until she harnesses her full powers! We’re not sure exactly what happened between Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau, but we’re sure their history will be explored in the next Captain Marvel film.

Monica has already been confirmed to have a role in the movie, and some serious hints to the film were shared during the post-credits scene in WandaVision. Nick Fury is the one chilling out in space right now, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if Monica visits him as an “old friend of [her] mother’s.”

Still, we can’t help but ask if Monica Rambeau is going to get a standalone film or series of her own since Spectrum is such a huge character in the MCU.
Our Next Big Baddie…Maybe
We’ve been theorizing a LOT about possible villains in the MCU, as we’ve pieced together clues from Marvel. Now that the Darkhold has popped up, we’ve got two major thoughts about which villains could be replacing Thanos as the overarching baddies of the upcoming phases. The Darkhold has sinister origins, as it was made in the Dark Dimension with infinite knowledge. And, now, it’s in the hands of Wanda.

Doctor Strange may have to attempt to balance things out with that book, since Wanda clearly wants to get her children back. Marvel could be moving towards the involvement of Nightmare, as there have been rumors that he’s in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

WestView had quite a few dreamlike qualities, so Billy and Tommy could have been transported to the Dream Dimension after they fell asleep and disappeared in the finale. Nightmare is also a villain who has faced Doctor Strange in the comics, so there are clear connections there. However, Mephisto’s appearance was also heavily hinted at in WandaVision.

Mephisto is known to reside in the Dark Dimension, where the Darkhold was made. And, in the comics, his soul was tied to Billy and Tommy. As Wanda uses the Darkhold to read more into her powers, Mephisto could literally be holding the twins in a form of hell to call out to her. The villain is known for making convoluted deals, so Wanda might be tempted to make a deal with the devil in order to regain her children.

It’s also a MAJOR deal that Mephisto faces against Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch in the comics, especially now that Kevin Feige has confirmed the upcoming series and films are connected.
What Will Happen to Wanda Now?
Did you nearly want to yell at Wanda to put down the Darkhold in that second post-credits sequence? Um, we certainly did. Chaos Magic is a lot darker than other kinds, and Agatha even noted that it’s Wanda’s destiny to become evil. So, could this be the next step for the Scarlet Witch?

It could be quite a twist to see Marvel give her evil intentions after the loss of her entire family. She would need some heavy compassion and guidance from those around her (which is actually where Doctor Strange and White Vision could both step in).

On the other hand, Wanda could break the mold and use her powers for good, despite her “destiny.” Currently, Earth is without a Sorcerer Supreme. We could see Wanda take up this position or the role of a Master of the Mystic Arts to aid Doctor Strange.

However, Wanda’s kids might actually be the next focus of the MCU moving forward…
The Hints Toward Young Avengers
Marvel hasn’t confirmed the Young Avengers yet, but we’ve got quite a few hints towards their debut. Marvel has stated that the Avengers would be returning in some capacity, and they’ve already been carving out space for the Young Avengers to appear.

For example, Young Avenger, Kate Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld in the upcoming Hawkeye series. Plus, Tommy and Billy Maximoff have exhibited their Speed and Wiccan powers in WandaVision with a nod to their comic costumes.

Regardless of what Marvel has in store for fans, WandaVision was an incredible start to the upcoming series and films. We’ll be keeping an eye on all sorts of Marvel news and reveals, so stay tuned to AllEars for everything you need to know!
