There’s a chic new place to stay near Walt Disney World!

When you head on a Disney World trip, you have lots of options of where to stay. We talk a lot about staying on property, but you can have a great time (and save some money!) staying off-property as well. Now, there’s a new off-property option!
According to the Orlando Business Journal, a new hotel debuted February 4th just outside of Disney World in Lake Buena Vista — Aloft Orlando by Marriott.

This chic and modern boutique option from Mariott has been under construction since 2019 and is located at 7950 Palm Parkway, about 10 minutes from Disney World property.

According to Southern Hospitality CEO, “[The hotel] is a new…prototype that Mariott redesigned… The design and functionality in the lobby and bar have been changed entirely and been redesigned for a great consumer experience.”

Putting it in a less formal way, General Manager Rachid Alaoui said, “Aloft Orlando-Lake Buena Vista blends design, style, and technology for the savvy traveler.”

Aloft Orlando-Lake Buena Vista is the second Aloft offering in the city, in addition to one located Downtown. Marriott is currently working on two more Orlando-based projects as well.

My sister and I were recently planning a trip and looking at staying off site as we thought it would be cheaper, but so many hotels that are actually nice and can be compared to Disney hotels and are close to the parks end up costing more or close to Disney price. When you have to factor in travel to the parks (every free shuttle offered by hotels that we have found are not running due to covid), transportation to and from the airport, their extra fees that you may not notice at first – thinking you’re getting a better deal, the price comes to be over or very close to Disney. If it comes down to spending a bit more for a Disney resort, we would rather stay on site. I trust Disney more than other hotels even if those hotels are on Disney property. Also, I just looked up the pricing for this new hotel and for 6 nights, it was over $1,000 for two adults and it’s a 12-20 min drive to the parks, which isn’t bad, but can be pricey if taking an uber everyday. It is about 20 min away from MCO.
