Three Films on Disney+ Have Been Nominated for the NAACP Image Awards!

Disney+ is filled with tons of shows and movies, and plenty of new and exciting things are coming to the streaming service in the future too.

Excitingly, three movies we can find on Disney+ have been nominated for some seriously noteworthy awards!

The NAACP Image Awards are presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and honor extraordinary performances in television, film, music, and literature. This year, 3 titles on Disney+ are up for a bunch of awards! Disney and Pixar’s 2020 film, Onward, has been nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture!

Hamilton is also receiving recognition. It’s up for FOUR nominations — Best Television Movie, Limited Series or Special, Outstanding Writing in a Television Movie or Special, and Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie or Special for Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odom Jr.

And, Black is King, a film by Beyoncé has been nominated three times! It’s nominated for Best Variety Show (Series or Special), Best Music Video/Visual Album, and Best Directing in a Television Movie or Special.

The 52nd NAACP Image Awards will be aired on Saturday, March 27th at 8/7C on BET. Check back with us for more Disney+ news!
