The entertainment industry has seen a lot of changes over the past year: even Disney has seen a restructuring of its brands that resulted in huge leadership changes.

Now, Universal seems to be shaking things up a bit with its Harry Potter and the Wizarding World franchise.
According to Deadline, WarnerMedia has announced that Warner Bros’ Young Adult and Classics President Tom Ascheim will now manage the Harry Potter franchise. He will report directly to WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group Chair Ann Sarnoff.

Ascheim will be responsible for the entire Wizarding World franchise, including the theme parks, tours, and theatrical releases, although the Fantastic Beasts movies will still be managed by Warner Bros. Pictures Group.

In addition, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and an upcoming park in Tokyo will continue to be managed by Warner Bros. Worldwide Studio Operations. The Harry Potter video games will continue to be handled by Warner Bros. Games.

Ascheim’s duties will have him working closely with Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, as well as her representatives. He will also be responsible for enhancing and expanding content for the franchise.
