NEWS: Disney+ Has Surpassed 86 Million Subscribers!

We’re currently tuning in to watch the virtual Investors Day presentation for the Walt Disney Company, and we’re learning quite a lot about Disney’s future!

We already expected to receive some more information on Disney+, especially since Disney has announced that their company will be focused more on streaming in the future. Shortly after the presentation began, Bob Chapek, CEO of Walt Disney Company, shared some big Disney+ information with investors, including an update on Disney+’s subscriber count!

Bob Chapek shared his sentiments on Disney+, saying “It’s hard to believe it’s only. been a year since we introduced you and the world to a whole new way of enjoying the magic of Disney in the comfort and convenience of your own homes.” He then went on to state that as of December 2nd, 2020, Disney+ now has 86.8 million subscribers!

He also noted that 95% of the population in 12 of the top global markets engaged with Disney’s content over the past year. As a company, Disney has “separated content creations from distribution and put in place a new structure that will allow us to be more nimble, responsive, and effective in the delivery of our content.”
