The New York Times recently wrote an article naming the 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century (So Far).

On the list were Oscar winners like Denzel Washington, Mahershala Ali, and Tilda Swinton. There were also various art-house actors and the notable voice-over work of French actress Catherine Deneuve. Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe Dameron in the new Star Wars trilogy, also received gracious accolades from the NY Times.
He’s cool, he’s calm, and he’s a huge charmer. The Times called Issac’s performance in Star Wars “an appealing, easygoing presence in those movies, a guy who seems to know what he’s doing.” This idea that Isaac “knows what he’s doing” is implemented in all his films like A Most Violent year where he’s selling heating oil or playing a wild tech Inventor in Ex Machina.

The notice comes in a timely manner as Isaac and his filmmaker wife, Elvira Lind, are starting their own production company. Lind took to Instagram to explain that Mad Gene Media has “podcasts, shorts, docs, fiction and graphic novels in the making.” Lind has directed films like Bobbi Jene, Songs for Alexis, and The Letter Room.

Isaacs’s knack for character development and Lind’s eye for direction is sure to work wonders. We’re positive the artistic couple will produce some fantastic work that reflects both of their extraordinary talents.
