While there is no set time for when the parks will greet everyone again, Cast Members have started to be called back into work ahead of the reopenings.

According to the Orange County Register, Disneyland has come to agreements with 20 different unions about bringing Cast Members back into the parks.

The group of unions represents more than 11,000 Disneyland Cast Members that will discuss furloughs and recall procedures. Some of the unions included in these agreements are the Teamsters Local 495, United Service Workers West, and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 324.

Disneyland stated that “The signed agreement details plans that include enhanced safety protocols that will allow us to responsibly reopen and get thousands of our cast members back to work.”

According to the agreement, employees will be provided with a thermometer  and must do an at-home health assessment before going into work. Any Cast Members who will be within 6 feet of guests will also be given a plastic face shield.

If they test positive, employees will receive two weeks of sick pay as they stay at home. During the initial recall, Cast Members can decline the first notice if they are worried about their safety. They will remain on furlough and receive benefits if they choose this option. However, Cast Members who decline a second recall notice “must go on an approved leave of absence or face termination.”

Disneyland has also given an update on the Disney College Program in its union agreements. It has stated that part-time and full-time employees will need to be called back into the parks before the Disney College Program is back up and running again.

Disneyland will also be using the same Guest Experience Team as Disney World that will be available throughout the Disneyland Resort area to enforce distancing, explain health and safety measures, and answer guests’ questions.
