One of my favorite photography things to do at Walt Disney World is to linger late into the night in one of the parks with camera, tripod and the beauty of a still evening.
Behind the Flame Tree BBQ in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there is a seating area which overlooks this scene of Expedition EVEREST. Using a tripod, I carefully focused on the lights in the seating area. Set my camera to an Aperture of f/16 to get everything in focus from the reflection in the water to Everest’s purple lighted profile. The long exposure of 30 seconds smoothed out the water.
The Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom at night is beautifully lighted including the patio on the water. in this case, there was enough light to use an exposure of 4 seconds at f/16.
As busy as the parks can get, staying late and seeing them so quiet, is very calming.
