Go On a Safari Ride with Disney’s South Africa Adventures at Home Kit!

Hi, AllEars readers! If you would like to read more information regarding the temporary closures at the Disney Parks, please click here for a list of closures at the Disney Parks, or click here for some of our most FAQs. From all of us at AllEars, our thoughts are with those affected. While the Disney Parks are closed, we will continue to write articles and bring you AllEars TV videos to enjoy and for our readers to use once the parks reopen.

We’ve already relaxed under the stars during our trip to Montana from home, but now we’re packing our bags to head to the savanna!

Just make sure you’ve got your Simba plush in one arm and your binoculars in the other because we’re about to spot some AMAZING animals!

Adventures by Disney is sending us on another staycation to Africa, all from the comfort of our own backyard during this new “Adventures at Home!”

First on the agenda, you’ve got to dress the part! Grab all your stylish safari outfits (yes, army pants and flip flops count) before going on your journey with your family!

Next, you’ll want to go sight-seeing — from your TV screen as you watch Disney+, of course. You can watch these films that really make you feel like you’ve traveled to Africa:

  • True-Life Adventures: The African Lion (1955)
  • The Lion King (1994)
  • The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride (1998)
  • The Lion King 1½ (2004)
  • Disney Nature: African Cats (2011)
  • The Lion King (2019)
  • Disney Nature: Elephant (2020)

It’s time to put your Disney artist skills to the test! Divide your family members into teams as you play Draw It! (AKA the Disney version of Pictionary). Will you be able to guess the African animal or landmark before the time runs out?? You can print your game guides to play along here!

Along with your visit to Africa, you can also feel like you’re at home in Animal Kingdom with your meal for the evening! As you’re singing along to “The Circle of Life” raising your cat in the air like Simba, you can make the Spicy Durban-Style Chicken from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

…before finishing things off with DIY Lion Paw Print Cookies! Of course, you can always have more than one since you totally got your steps in trekking the savanna. 😉

PHEW! After that long day, you deserve a well-needed rest surrounding by your little cubs (and pets).
