And, although Tom might be a household name, he’s doing everything he can to help out the world during this time.

According to Variety, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson donated their blood to help develop a COVID-19 vaccine after they recovered from the virus themselves.

After they tested positive in March, they quarantined themselves until they were recovered from their symptoms. However, they are feeling “just fine” and “dandy” now after dealing with the illness.

Once Tom and Rita found out that they carry the antibodies of the virus, they thought it was important to donate their blood and plasma. Tom also said that he’d love to name the vaccine “Hank-ccine” if one is created using his blood donations.
