Disney at the Oscars: Who Was Nominated, Who Won, and HOW Many Elsas Were There?

Last night marked the 92nd Academy Awards, and the Walt Disney Company definitely had some heavy hitters in many of the award categories.

With 23 nominations and four wins across Disney’s properties, the company was certainly feeling the love from the Academy last night. Plus, there was a Frozen 2 performance featuring Elsa actresses from around the world.

The nominations for Disney properties spanned across all sorts of categories with everything from Visual Effects to Best Picture. Six nominations were given to Fox Searchlight Pictures’ Jojo Rabbit, four nominations were given to 20th Century Fox’s Ford v. Ferrari, three nominations went to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and two nominations went to Toy Story 4.

Other Disney-owned films that received nominations were Kitbull, Ad Astra, The Cave, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Frozen 2, Avengers: Endgame, and The Lion King.

On top of the numerous nominations, the Walt Disney Company took home four wins. Toy Story 4 was named Best Animated Feature Film of the Year. Ford v. Ferrari received the award for Film Editing and the award for Sound Editing. Finally, Jojo Rabbit took home the Adapted Screenplay award.

Still, even with the wins, there was one moment that really stood out to Oscars during the ceremony. Idina Menzel (the voice of Elsa) and Aurora performed the nominated “Into the Unknown” with NINE other Elsas from around the world! Watch it here!
