New ‘Frozen 2’ Deleted Scene Gives a Closer Look at Anna and Elsa’s Parents

No matter how hard we try, we just can’t let the Frozen series go. Awful jokes aside, it’s been a couple of months since Frozen II debuted on November 22nd of last year, but Disney isn’t done with the world of Arendelle yet.

Last week, Disney Animation unveiled a beautiful new VR short called “Myth: A Frozen Tale” that dove into the lore of Arendelle. Today, Disney released a new video of the directors of Frozen II, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, revealing a deleted scene from the film. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, be warned: there are spoilers ahead.

In the deleted scene, entitled “A Place of Our Own”, Elsa uses her new power over water to show Anna a memory of their parents, King Agnarr and Queen Iduna, right before they left on the tragic voyage that would end their lives from the first film.

Anna learns that her parents wanted to tell her about Elsa’s powers, but decided to wait until they returned. Unfortunately, they never did, but the bond between Elsa and Anna becomes even stronger after this vision. It’s a touching scene and it’s a shame it didn’t make it into the final cut.
