First Look: Disney Skyliner Gondolas in Action

As we reported recently, testing of Walt Disney World's new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, has begun. Today, Disney released the first official image of a Skyliner gondola in action, as it traveled between Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, which will serve as the hub of the system, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

New restaurants Sebastian's Bistro and Centertown Market opened today at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, which has been under a massive refurbishment. Also open today was the renovated pool bar, Banana Cabana. We have photos from the opening day.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Transformation Details Revealed

The Caribbean Beach was Disney's first moderately priced resort. When planning this property, the Imagineers did not think budget-minded guests would be interested in a table-service restaurant, so they only included a food court in their plans. However, they were wrong. When the resort opened on October 1, 1988, guests immediately started complaining and requesting more dining options. However, it would be almost six years before the first solution came to life.
