At IAAPA this morning, Bob Chapek — Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Consumer Products — announced that Walt Disney World’s much-anticipated Skyliner will be ready for guests in Fall 2019!

This announcement means the advent of the gondola system, which will connect two parks and four Disney resorts, will likely coincide with — or come right before — the planned opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Chapek shared that Skyliner’s last support tower has been constructed, and crews are now working on installing the project’s reinforced cables.

We’re looking forward to this new transportation system in Walt Disney World, which will connect several resorts and hotels to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios directly.

From what I know about gondola’s they can be quite slow. Any idea how long it might take to go from point to point?
