Best character interaction for character dining. We had Rafiki, Max, Peter Pan, Fairy Godmother, Tigger, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Chip, Dale, and Minnie! Good mix of classics and more rare charcters. Food was all right. Buffet had nice selection.

This hotel was my favorite of all the moderates I have stayed at. It is smaller than the others, which means a lot less walking to the pool, food court, or bus stop. The pool is great. The grounds are themed incredibly as well.
I could really think of only two things to complain about (and as you can see, they weren't big enough deals for me to even dock a rating), it was the elevators and the food court. First, the elevators. There is only one set per building, and it can lead to a lot of walking (though I believe that is pretty much the case at every resort). However, the location of the elevator in our building was very inconvenient. It was near the river and pool, which meant it was as far away as can be from both the parking lot and the front entrance/bus stop. So if you are in the front of the building (near the main entrance), you need to walk all the way to the back of the building, and then all the way back towards the entrance to get to your room. Not really a big deal for us (we just use the stairs most times anyways), but something you may want to think about.
Other minor complaint is the food court. We actually really liked the food we got there, but it is small. Now, it is to be expected that it would be small (this is a small resort after all), and the lines were never long, but there are virtually no snack options (chips etc.). However, don't forget the much bigger Riverside is like 0.25 miles away, so if you are desperate, it's a quick (beautiful) walk over to their much bigger food court. Once again, not really a big deal, but it could be good to know.
Other than those two minor things, definitely recommend this resort, and I think it will be our go-to resort for the moderates.

Stayed 6-3 to 6-8-15. Our room request was delightfully met, and we had a first floor corner room on the river, it could not have been more perfect, close to the pool but was far enough removed to hear none of the noise. The last time we stayed here was actually during 9/11, and I must say the place has not changed in fourteen years, which is not a bad thing. I love the atmosphere of the 'streets', the decor, the lobby, and the small size keeps it more quiet, at least as far as a Disney resort goes. The pool really needs an update, the slide alone is old and both times I rode it I almost got stuck, it's barely worth the excitement lol. The pool is large for a small resort, a big plus, as there is no second quiet pool (which it should have) and Riverside is quite a hike to find one, we did it once but when we got there the pools had closed because of an approaching thunderstorm arrgh. If you try one thing from the food court, get the beignets, and eat them while they are still warm, we ate them three nights in a row, they are SO good. Although I absolutely love Coronado Springs, French Quarter is a great choice is you want a Disney resort that isn't overwhelming. Only thing I missed were the beaches two of the other moderates offer, but French Quarter makes up for it in charm.
Pros:
Small and manageable, quieterCons:

We had done the lua many years ago and wanted to try it again.I pad extra to sit in section #1 so i could see better since i am short. We got sat at the far end of section #1 behind a pole that holds up the roof and guess what i only could see one section of the show. The entertainers seem to stay right in the center and focus on that area ,bot on both sides like alot of shows do.The food was just ok.The salad appetizer was the best part, but our pineapple was not ripe and very hard and tasteless. The entree was served family style and was hot.it looked better than it tasted though. The sangrias were good ,but came in very small glasses.the show was ok,but my missed some of the older comical stuff they use to put in there. There was one dancer that seemed to be dancing a little too provacative for my taste but it wasn't outrageously done. Our server did good, but seemed to be focused more on another section of our table and i had to flag him down to get attention. All in all,it was an ok show, but probably want do it again.

We spent 6 night in a 2 bdr villa in April 2015, using our DVC points.
We requested (and received) a ground floor unit in the Grand Stand section-this area is great because it is quiet, has its own pool, is only a 5-7 minute walk to the main pool, and is the 1st stop for the busses to and from the parks!
Our villa was ready when we arrived and with online check-in and Magic Bands we by-passed the check-in desk and drove right to our building!
Everything was clean and in good shape-except one of the locks on the sliding patio door didn't close properly-a concern since we were on the ground floor. But a call had a maintenance person there within an hour and he fixed it in a few minutes.
This is our third time staying at Saratoga Springs, and we like it because it is beautiful-our villa overlooked the golf course, and it is quiet-at night you could hear crickets chirping.
Pros:
A quiet and peaceful break !Cons:

this is my honest opinion from annual passholder that has been to value and deluxe resorts as well.
Checkin in:fast and easy after doing online check in.never got the text to tell me room was ready though.
Rooms:nicely themed alligator bayou 5 person garden view.not too much bigger than value rooms,no storage for clothing or suitcase rack to lay suitcases on.Fridge but no microwave.Sheets on bed felt like those rough ones at the hospital very stiff and the toilet paper was very cheap see through stuff.
Grounds and pool:well kept and pool was nice, but very cold even in june.lifeguards were doing great job keeping people safe.
Foodcourt:not as good as the value ones, not much to choose from for a late night snack unless you wanted a full entree meal.chips and fruit and a few others items for small stuff.also one night they were out of ice for drinks and were not refilling it.The pizza was pretty good.
i'd say i was a little disappointed after reading all the great reviews.it was just ok for our family.paying more at the modearte doesn't seem to have much of a value over the cheaper resorts.you get them same things at value resorts.it wasn't a bad experience here at all,and i will still try all of the resorts.

My Frist trip to Disneyland and the Disneyland Hotel was for the Tinkerbell Half Marathon 5/18/15-5/12/15.
This first thing I noticed was that the castmembers at the front desk didn't have the added touch of magic like in WDW (there was an issue with our request for a connecting room) but I'm probably just biased to the east coast 😉
The hotel is completely renovated and beautiful. The bed was comfortable, clean big room, but best of all was the bathroom. There is a counter with mirror outside the bathroom across from the closet. Inside the bathroom area you will see a sink and shower, and then another door to the toilet. This worked so well with 3 adults sharing 1 room. Also, I love being immersed in all things Disney and that's definitely what you will get here.
I stayed in the Fantasy Tower (main building) which was great but I honestly wouldn't have minded being in the other buildings because they are all very close with pools centrally located.
My only minor complaint (more of a run Disney complaint) packet pick up was located in a parking garage at the Disneyland Hotel which was odd.
Steakhouse 55 was amazing. I also enjoyed the coffee shop each morning.
Trader Sam's is a favorite but entirely too small, you need to be aggressive to get an open seat!
If I ever make the journey across country again I will definitely stay at Disneyland Hotel.
Pros:
Proximity to DTD, all things Disney, very nice accomodationsCons:

I had the southwest chicken salad (seems like the same one from pecos bills which i really like). Granddaughter had a chicken burrito which she liked. We were there the last week of March 2015 and they'd just done away with the toppings bar and don't have the taco salad on the menu anymore. We like going. Is it the best Mexican ever...no...it's a theme park quick serve but good for what it is. Portions are huge.
Pros:

We just got back from Disney. We are a party of nine and used the dining plan. This was our first time at Garden Grill. The service was amazing. The salad was yummy with fresh vegetables from the Land. The turkey and beef were cooked well and everyone enjoyed them. Only one of us ate the fish, but he liked it. All the sides were good and everyone loved dessert. For younger kids the characters were readily available and nobody felt rushed. For my family this will be a part of our next trip to Disney!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
