We were a party of 7 and had made reservations. When we checked in, we got our pager and it went off within 10 minutes and we were seated. We weren't in the main dining room by the stage, which bummed us out at first, we were in a side room. We could still hear the band quite well and then the step-dancers came into our room several times. It ended up being great because it wasn't too loud but still entertaining. Our waiter was great! Didn't rush us and was very informative and attentive. He also made sure our drinks didn't go empty!
We started with the appetizer sampler platter which had wings, ribs, bangers, scallops and maybe something else and some dipping sauces. We got two of them for the table and it was plenty. The presentation was great too!
For dinner I had the "It's Not Bleedin' Chowder" except I asked them to not put mussels in mine and add extra scallops and/or shrimp instead. They did it and it was fantastic. My husband got his with the mussels and he enjoyed his as well. Our friend got the Shepherds Pie, which he liked, but the portion wasn't enough for him. Another got the braised beef that he said was ok. Two friends got burgers and LOVED them!
We saved some room for dessert and you should too! Get the bread pudding - wow! I've never been a fan of bread pudding but this is fantastic! We also got the strawberry and apple crumble, and a lemon curd tart... both good.
We just had a really good time and we all said we would definitely go back!

My daughter and I had the best time here! Food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Our server was so nice and took good care of us. The characters alone are worth the price of the buffet! It is also such a beautiful place. Sunny and bright with large windows with a perfect view of the castle. Reservations are essential.

It pains me to say anything negative about anything in Disney because I believe they try so hard to give high quality food. The lines moved so slowly I thought I might have mistakenly been in line for space mountain! (Joke) Food was average and I really didn't expect more, but the prices were so high! $8 for a hot dog and fries! And I know food at Disney is high, I have eaten literally dozens of meals in all parks and resorts. It was a plain, regular hot dog. I have to say, they do have one of the best views of the castle from the outdoor patio.

Dined here on jan 10, 2013. Daughter got tempura shrimp and stated it was the best shrimp she has ever had. I got beef with broccoli and it was ok, not amazing. We shared the cream cheese wontons with pineapple. This was very good. I could have eaten a bowl of the sauce they drizzle over it. Decor is really cool! Pretty pricey place.

Daughter had the Tonga Toast and I had the macadamia nut pancakes. I could eat this every day. Food was hot and fresh and loaded with flavor. Best breakfast in Disney World!

Gave a rating of 9 because we had so much fun! Food was lukewarm and average, but our servers were awesome and the characters were the best! Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. I am not familiar with Lilo and Stitch, but now I want to watch the movie. They were adorable. I'm a character meal junkie and this is a good one!

Average food. Fries were cold. Bakery items looked impressive. Dole whip!!(vanilla and pineapple). Lovely outdoor seating. Cool ordering system (if you don't need to make special requests) open 24/7. Refillable mugs (can only be refilled at this location) were over $16!

We were a large party of 17 in early December 2012 and had five rooms on the 2nd floor and our balconies facing the sunset view. We all enjoyed viewing the animals, especially the children, from our balconies. We had a hectic park schedule and I would have liked spending more time just lounging in the beautiful surroundings of Animal Kingdom Lodge. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, found the service people very helpful at Mara We also enjoyed a large family meal at Boma. The lobby is truly outstanding. Our rooms were in good condition and very comfortable. We were very happy with our stay and believe the children had an unforgettable experience there. The giraffes are magnificent.

Just got home from an 8 night stay (Jan 7-15, 2013). This was our first time at the Polynesian. We have stayed at a variety of Disney resorts over the years in all price ranges (Pop Century, Port Orleans, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge). My 20 year old daughter liked the Polynesian best of all! My fav is the Grand Flo. I did enjoy the Poly very much and would stay there again in a heartbeat. It starts as you get off the bus. You are greeted with the sound of waterfalls and the beauty of the tropical vegetation. The staff all smile and bid you aloha. Check-in was smooth and we each received a pink lei. We were in room 1706 in the Niue building which is just behind the Great Ceremonial Lodge. We were close to the quiet pool. We were blown away by the incredible landscaping! In Jan there were blooming things everywhere! The sidewalks gently curved around the buildings and along the beach. There is also a short walkway to the TTC.
We were very pleased with our room. It was large and clean, with 2 closets and a mini fridge, a safe, and feather pillows. The decor is very cute without being overwhelming. Bed and pillows are very comfortable and there are extra pillows and blankets in both closets. There is a nice desk with another pull-out desk under it. They have thoughtfully included a power strip along the top with multiple outlets. The dresser has 6 drawers. Bathroom is roomy and the lighting is ok ( would have liked a magnifying mirror). I have to agree with other reviews about the bus situation. There is 1 bus for 3 deluxe resorts. I can't for the life of me understand this! You pay a lot of money and get crammed into buses going to 3 resorts. When we've stayed at the Pop and Coronado Springs we had one bus for that resort. Being on the monorail does not matter when you need transportation to DHS or Animal Kingdom. I never saw people that were staying at The Grand Flo get a seat and at times they had to wait for another bus.
There are several dining options from quick service to character meals. We had a fabulous breakfast at Kona. We had a very entertaining character breakfast at O'hana with Lilo and Stitch. Food wasn't remarkable and wasn't hot either. We had so much fun that it more than made up for it. Mickey and Pluto were there too. I'm just crazy about character meals! They know how to make it fun for all ages. Lilo sat at a table and started pounding on it to get some service. Everyone was laughing! It was so funny!
We ate at the quick service place Captain Cooks. Food was average at best. However, there is a dole whip machine with vanilla and pineapple dole whip!! Need I say more? You can get sushi in the evenings outside the Kona restaurant. And there is an indoor bar and a bar by the volcano pool.
You can rent little boats or lay on the beach. You can relax in a hammock and watch fireworks. You can also catch a water taxi to the Grand Flo or Magic Kingdom. Only a small number of passengers are allowed, so if there appear to be more than 20 people waiting for it, you are better off catching the monorail as it is rather slow. We did enjoy riding the boat back to the resort. Very relaxing and quiet.
The water pageant makes the rounds to all the resorts on Seven Seas Lagoon every evening. This is a cute light-up musical float on the water.
There are 2 gift shops, an art gallery, a photopass station, and convenience store.
There is just no shortage of anything you could want or need. This is a special place and Disney has done a wonderful job making it one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever seen!
