I just learned today that the Plaza Restaurant will no longer be taking reservations for dinner (lunch reservations still available). 100% walk up and wait.
The Plaza has become my favorite MK dining spot, so I will definitely be waiting next time!

Pros:

Banana split!

Cons:

No more dinner reservations

Stayed in a 1 bedroom villa 7/17-7/24 room was ready when we arrived. Hotel is beautiful and within walking distance to Disneyland with it's own entrance to California Adventure. All the cast members were great and very helpful. The villa was clean and well equipped, beds very comfortable and good size bathrooms. Pools (3) were nice but the slide needs to be redone to slow. Hotel is also right next to Downtown Disney which is nice.

Pros:

Beautiful Hotel, Nice Size Villas, Great Staff

Cons:

Review of Grand Floridian Cafe Breakfast

We had previously eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner and really enjoyed. The restaurant itself has a wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff is just so nice and accommodating.

On Thursday July 21st we had chose the Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast and was sorely disappointed. The atmosphere and wait staff were again wonderful but the food was so disappointing for the cost. For $15.00 i had a pre-cooked cold Mickey waffle. It is not hard to make waffles to order and this just baffled my mind why it they would feel the need to pre-make the waffles? You can order additions to waffles, for example - chocolate chips, banana's , strawberries etc. But they are served on the side. If they just made the waffles fresh you could actually put the chocolate chips INSIDE the batter when making the waffle.
Was very disappointed I felt Disney took the easy route with this meal.

Pros:

Atmosphere/Wait Staff

Cons:

Food

Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

2 adults, 2 kids. Stayed in a Royal Room with river view, July 13-19.

Royal Rooms are spectacular and fun for everyone. Grandkids loved the "fireworks" on the headboards. River view was nice. Our room was right by the bridge leading to the main building-good location. Mousekeeping was good, until we discovered old food items under the beds. Yucky! Main pool is nicely themed.

Riverside is a huge resort, so check your room location. You may have a long walk from transportation, problematic in the heat of summer.

The bus service was spotty, at best. There are four bus stops, with the south depot being the main building. Routinely, the bus driver would go to the south depot last, where most people got off or on. Didn't make sense to me. Also, there are two loading areas at the main bus stop, depending on your destination. In the mornings, the first loading area would be so packed with waiting guests, it was difficult to get through to the next loading area, if you needed to. Again, poor function.

The food court is chaotic and messy. We witnessed unfriendly food servers, what appeared to be improper food handling and a manager chastising a server, in view of guests.

Overall, our stay was OK. Riverside is our least favorite moderate resort.

Pros:

Theme, royal rooms, main pool

Cons:

large resort, poor bus service, food court

Review of Old Key West Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

We have stayed at OKW many times, and generally love being there. We have usually been able to get rooms near the hospitality house. I think this most recent trip was the first time we ended up basically a bit far to walk back and forth to the main building from the room and at times, if raining, used the bus system.......It works, just takes time.

We typically spend our days in the parks, but we met up with relatives who wanted to spend a few days at the resort and not do much of anything but relax, due to an injury. So it was really our first experience at OKW going for counter service. We were underwhelmed. Sandwiches (in wraps) must have sat for a bit -bread soggy, other food items over cooked. Order not correct when picked up. And there are really no other options and it is a limited menu.

And if bad weather or it is super hot outside, you have to eat outside on a picnic table, if all are not occupied - unless you bring it back to your room, to the pool area, or invade the lobby sitting area.

We love the resort - but truly wish they would beef up the counter service. If they did that it would likely be in our top 3 resorts behind BLT and BCV.

Pros:

Quiet, Love view of Golf course from room, extra room size is nice

Cons:

Busing within the resort, Counter service option

I realize it's not a deluxe resort. The beds in our room were not good and the springs creaked every time you moved. Our family staying in the adjacent room also had bad beds. The bedding is also a far cry from the cushy comfy stuff you get at the monorail and Epcot resorts.

I also think Disney is missing the mark on buses with the resort size. We've always stayed deluxe and only heard horror stories about overcrowded buses...until now. You've got 4 stops at PORS, 1 stop on the return journey at POFQ, more rooms than several deluxe resorts combined, etc. It's no wonder it's such a mess. They either need more buses going more frequently or a redesigned route.

While we live along the gulf coast and the grounds look very similar to things we see at home (mansions and quiet pools look a lot like older apartment complexes in our area), I could see how this could be pretty for people who don't live in this part of the country. It has lots of pretty areas for jogging or walks.

The pools were also great, the service was good, and we liked having the boat to Disney Springs. I've also seen complaints about it being too large and spread out. Now maybe we were in a better building (just had a standard view in Magnolia), but we thought everything was very convenient.

We stayed here as part of a group event and were limited with resort options. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I also think it would work well for a number of people if they'd just get better beds and improve the bus situation.

Pros:

Price, pool, service, DS boat

Cons:

Bed quality, bus set up, carpet, size, bathroom

Review of Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

We've debated about trying this one for a while as we're pretty picky with pizza. Originally from the NY metro area and having traveled to Italy, most pizza just falls short. Still, lots of people said this wouldn't disappoint.

We had the hardest time ordering because it is so loud in there. I felt so rude because we were practically screaming at times to get our server to hear us.

As for the pizza, we ordered two of the big ones and they were each horribly soggy. We had to roll the pieces up like taquitos because it was the only way to eat it. Even knife and fork wasn't working well because it's so paper thin. The taste on the pepperoni pie was OK, but we got one of the other specialty ones with eggplant and it was incredibly bland.

Well, we can say we tried it and based on our firsthand experiences...we won't be going back.

Pros:

Service

Cons:

Soggy Pizza, Loud

we enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at this resort. Our 9th trip to WDW but our first trip to the Caribbean Beach Resort.
The resort is very similar to the Coronado Springs Resort (just more palm trees and less cacti).
The distances between buildings are not as far as we expected. Buses were far better except for the Magic kingdom bus on both early opening days that we were there.
Old Port Royale is a good resort counter service - not the best on site but certainly not the worst.
Mousekeeping was generally very good with the exception of the trash that had accrued behind the murphy bed. When we reported the problem it was dealt with very quickly.
Would definitely return.

Pros:

Beautiful resort, regular buses, nice rooms,

Cons:

Trash behind Murphy Bed

I was worried about this one as I'd seen some negative reviews concerning service. Thankfully, the service was great during our visit. From the hostesses to our actual server, everyone was so friendly and helpful.

As for the food...everything was delicious. Well, my husband didn't love the hummus fries, but he doesn't love hummus...so I can't knock them for that. For cheese lovers, the brie is a treat you probably won't want to share. We tried a number of the appetizers/small bites on the menu, which was perfect.

It's also a beautiful restaurant. I'm sure it would be nice for Illuminations.

Pros:

Food, Atmosphere, Service

Cons:

We really enjoyed this meal. The food was nothing earth shattering, but the burgers were good, we loved the onion rings, and the milkshakes were great.

We loved the nostalgia factor with everything being shown on the screen...just wished they had more content so you didn't repeat any material.

Pros:

Onion Rings and Milkshakes

Cons:

Needs more content on film being played
