Hands down, my favorite quick service in all of WDW.
The ribs are to die for and the tree canopy seating make this a little slice of paradise during a busy, hot day in AK. For some reason, it's never crowded which is even a bigger plus. My family always likes to eat here close to closing time because we feel like we have the whole seating area to ourselves.

Excellent fun for young and old. Great food and plenty of it plus wine, beer and ice cream treats. It's 2 table service meals but you get what you pay for. There's no buyer's remorse with our family when we do it.
I only wish they offered it more than 2 days of the week.
Pros:
Food, character interactions, beer, fun showCons:

Ate here 5/18. The monorail kept breaking down which resulted us in being late, but no fear we weren't the only ones and the restaurant was aware of the situation. Our ressies were for 5pm and arrived at 530. We have ate here several times and continue to enjoy it. We immediately got our pictures taken outside the restaurant as is customary and were then announced and taken to our table. Our waiter who we have had in the past arrived quickly to take our beverage orders and asked if we were on dp. He told us the characters would be arriving so for us to go get our food. The variety of foods and meats were plenty including the childrens selections. The characters arrived and took time to meet with everyone, sign autographs and take pictures. The stepsisters and Lady Tremaine really make this character experience. We so enjoy this meal and experience that it is hard not to do it everytime. I always encourage people who can't or are unable to get in a CRT to try this experience. Our waiter was fantastic as always removing plates and refilling beverages before we were finished with them. We also purchased adult beverages and I especially loved the Lavs Cava its similiar to a pina colada but with raspberry puree in it. LOVED IT!!!!! AFterwards walked around the resort and decided to take the boat back over to MK since we knew the monorail was having issues only to find out that it was completely down and thank goodness we got to the boats when we did because there was over an hour wait for them and people were missing their ressies in MK that was staying at the GF. They tried to accommodate with buses but some people just aren't ever happy.

We love staying at French Quarter and this visit reinforced that belief. We almost wish the Parks weren't so available; we would choose to spend more time at the hotel.
We arrived at around 10 AM--certainly early for check in. A nice CM with an iPad took our info and reappeared in about 10 minutes with our room info--Bldg. 1, room 1134. We hauled all our gear there but the room would not open with our magicbands. Back to the front desk, where I was told by another CM "That's not your room!" OK, but that's what the CM gave me. Since I wasn't particular, she found us another room: Bldg. 4, room 4307. This room was great. Even though it had a view of the parking lot, the square in between was landscaped with beautiful trees and hedges. We never heard a car or truck, and only the occasional back-up beeps. Its also the closest area to the bus stops, so no complaints there.
The room had plenty of space for 4 adults. It was cleaned daily, but only a Mickey towel on the first day (they may have sensed no little ones). They were a bit stingy with the coffee pods, but a quick stop to the front desk produced more.
The pool was great and never overcrowded. The new kids play area seemed popular. There were lawn movies, smore's, and carriage rides. My only complaint about the store is that they have stopped carrying skim milk and on most days didn't even have low fat milk. The restaurant is totally underrated.
The room rates here are the lowest for moderate resorts on the WDW property, making this a good value. I doubt we will ever stay at any other WDW hotel.

Very pleasant helpful cast members throughout the restaurant and resort. Food was fresh and tasty. Hubby liked the coffee but said no toast just small biscuits. Great eggs and lovely fresh fruit. Love the Hawaain theme and music. Took a walk around after breakfast. Very nice experience. Will definitely go back

I know this restaurant gets somewhat mixed reviews but we have always had positive experiences here. There is a large variety of dishes to choose from and they taste good. The beignets are a bargain they always have sugar-free ice cream available. The workers are invariably pleasant and the hours the are open are extensive. The kids breakfast plate in the morning gets you a waffle, eggs, meat and 2 fruits, plus milk for $5. A good place to eat when you're hungry and don't know what exactly you want.

My best friend and I got lucky and scored ADR's here and to be honest I wasn't expecting great food being in the middle of a theme park but boy were we surprised! My friend had the steak and I tried it and it was very good and well seasoned. Even her fries were better than most. I had the pork chop and it was amazing! The only thing we didn't care for was the much touted "gray stuff". It wasn't a cupcake when we went, which I think would be MUCH better. It was some sort of skinny hard brownie with gray stuff on top. It was tiny, about the size of a snickers bar and tough and crumbly. The gray stuff on top was actually wonderful, but we both agreed that we wouldn't ever have to try it again, at least not in brownie form. All in all, this has become my favorite meal in the Magic Kingdom.

My friend and I had lunch here and I was super excited for her because it was her first trip to WDW. I thought it would be a great place to break her in so we ate here for our first meal of the trip. While the food was better than expected, the service was not. We were seated way back in a corner by the kitchen away from all of the antics so she never even noticed anything fun was going on behind her. Not once did our waiter bother to play along so pretty much it was just a restaurant with decent food. This seems to happen to me both here and at 50's Prime Time every time I go. The bad part was I told them at the check in desk that I had a first time visitor with me and asked if we could please get a server that was really into it. I'm starting to think that when you ask, they are deliberately sticking you with the worst waiter they have. He was so soft spoken that we could barely hear him and he seemed nervous like he'd never waited a table a day in his life. Oh well. Maybe it's because we never have children with us. Hopefully when I take my new niece next year we will get a different response.

The first time I ever visited WDW with my family, we ate here and had the most memorable meal of any of the restaurants on property. Ever since I have tried my best to recreate that experience for many many of my friends on their first visits to no avail. With this place it all comes down to your server. No one will ever beat the guy who looked like Robert Caradine from Revenge of the Nerds. I have no idea what his name was but it was about 1996 and he told us he had also been the gangster on The Great Movie Ride and loved acting. Anyway, I digress...my hats off to you dude! lol So on this trip, I was with my best friend and my father. Deana my friend, had never been to WDW before so I tried to pick all of the really cool themed restaurants so that she would have the best experience and fun memories for the rest of her life. As things were going...the only thing memorable would be the food at Ohana because neither the server at Whispering Canyon, nor this one at 50's Prime Time were the least interested in playing along. At both places I explained I had a newbie in hopes of being seated in a good section. Nope. I had the meatloaf and it was very good, but I wish they would do away with those tasteless crunchy green beans that no one eats. Everyone really liked their food, but because of our lousy server I had to sit there and explain to my friend what USUALLY happens in that restaurant. Sadly we could sit and watch fun stuff happening to OTHER people, but our server was nothing more than friendly and attentive. No matter how much we joked around with him to give him the hint, he seemed like he had no idea WHY we were in such a playful mood. As if he got the job and no one told him what the theme of the place was about. This has happened to me at least 4 other visits to this restaurant that I can think of, but I keep on hoping for the best. The closest I come is when I get a server that is kind of a smart alek, and sassy who likes to tell your kids that they don't have to listen to their parents and encourage the kids to boss their parents around etc. Not exactly how it was in the 50's but at least their trying to play along in some form. Not sure if I will bother giving this place another shot since it's been a disappointment sooo many times.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I had been hesitant to try it because of the lack of Disney theme and there are so many other places to try. This trip we were trying to save a little money so checking out the menu and the fact that I don't care for counter service, this seemed like a good spot. I had the meatloaf and my Dad got the reuben. The portions were perfect and the cost was a nice change from the ridiculous prices at other restaurants. We had actually cancelled our ADR's at Crystal Palace due to the price and booked The Plaza instead and we were not disappointed. I will definitely be eating here again.
