We had the warm sticky bun and coffee I think it was the best I ever ate. We ate here late January evening was cold so the hot bun was great.

Pros:

Ate here late January. I ordered the sirloin steak medium. I came medium well. That did not bother me but the steak was tough. The knife they give you barely cut the meat. The best part was the bread. I wish they would open a kiosk to sell the bread. Yum.

Pros:

lovely dinning room

Cons:

food

Visited late January. The new location is nice. Lines move quick and there is small eating area. We always visit this place several times each visit. This trip was no different. I ordered the cheese platter to take back to the room. Was a nice evening snack.

Pros:

more lunch items on the menu.

Cons:

Cost

Visited late January. I ordered the bacon cheese burger comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onions. Was nice to be able to have grapes as a side instead of French fries. The burgers have improved over the years. I guess Disney has been listening.

Pros:

menu is greatly improved

Cons:

miss the fixing bar.

My children and I ate lunch here and it was one of the best meals we had at Disney. The chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the steak tacos and my son ordered quesadillas and both were excellent. The only downside is the lighting. It was perfect to set the mood, but made it difficult to see the menu. Also, the children's menu only offered Mexican dishes. It would be nice to see pbj or something ordinary for picky eaters.

Pros:

Food and Atmosphere

Cons:

Poor Lighting/Childrens Menu

Review of Raglan Road

My sons and I had dinner at Raglan Road recently. We had made priority seating arrangements, but when we arrived, was told they did not have record of our reservation. So, we waited outside for a table. Our wait was only about 25 minutes and we were seated close to the entertainment. We ordered the Serious Steak, Fish and Chips, and a kids meal. It took over a half an hour just to get the bread delivered. Then, another half an hour to get our dinner. They were very busy that night, but I felt it was too long to have to wait for food. Once delivered, the meal was outstanding! Probably the best steak dinner I've had in years. The music and entertainment added to the fun of sitting outside at downtown Disney.

Pros:

Food and Entertainment

Cons:

Speed of Service

Review of Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate Resort)

Overall we loved our room. We stayed in the pirate room in Trinidad south. We stayed from Feb. 18th until the 22nd. The room was clean and the housekeeper did a wonderful job. Since I used to clean rooms when I was younger, I made sure we tipped our housekeeper everyday. The front desk left us a message the night before giving us details about leaving. He forgot to tell us we need to drop off our luggage at least an hour before Disney Magical Express bus was to pick us up. Then the bellhop told us it is really 3 hours. We are planning to come back to Disney in December but will probably stay at the Contemporary Resort. The quick service options are healthier and better there, they have a cool bar and you can jump on the monorail to get to the Magic Kingdom.

Pros:

Clean rooms and property was nice

Cons:

Huge property and no real bar

Review of Mickey's Backyard Barbecue

We loved it. Went in early September. It was NOT unbearably hot as other reviews would suggest. It was hot out, but it wasn't uncomfortable in the pavilion. We got seated at the allergy table, as our son has a tree nut allergy. We had a great view of everything. The food was great we thought, though our family enjoys picnic food. We love hot dogs, cornbread and ribs. Everything we had tasted great and we especially liked everything on the buffet was safe for our tree nut allergic son. The included wine and beer was nice also.

One annoyance: Mickey & Minnie posed for pictures on their break obviously a line formed, everyone in line was told they would pose for pictures until a specific song began playing, then they would up and head back to the dance floor. You would think people in line would be courteous enough to just take a picture and move on, but no, out came those darn autograph books, some families with 5-6 of them! I thought that was SOOO rude of them, there are a million opps to get autographs and now their insistence on collecting autographs would lead to some not happy children who wouldn't even get to get their picture taken because these people sucked up the time. We were among the first in line, took a picture, let our son give a quick hug and moved on but couldn't believe some people.

Our son was just 4, is quite shy and wasn't interested in getting up and dancing with the characters. He just enjoyed the music and watching everything. We had a great time and it is on our list of reservations to make for our next trip. It depends what you expect from these events how satisfied or disappointed you will be. If you go into it expecting 1-on-1 character constant interaction and a gourmet meal, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for decent food (depending on your taste palate, we love picnic foods), cute entertainment, and the characters and understand that the characters aren't there just for you, but to entertain hundreds, you will have fun. Its all about perspective! And I had read many reviews before booking this (and are every-year Disney trippers) so I'm really glad the negativity didn't sway me!

Pros:

Food, Fun

Cons:

We didnt find any really

Review of 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch/Dinner

My dh and I ate dinner here on 2/22. We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation and were seated within a couple minutes. Our waitress was really friendly and explained the "rules" to my dh, who had never been there before. He had the pot roast and brownie sundae (on ddp) which he enjoyed. I had the chicken pot pie and smores, which were very tasty. We both noted that the meals were extemely heavy, and we felt over stuffed upon leaving. Of course, this is the style of the meals in the 50's, but I think next time we want to eat in Hollywood Studios we will stick to the Sci Fi Dine in!

Pros:

service, atmosphere

Cons:

foods rather heavy, filling

Review of Chef Mickey's Breakfast

My DH and I arrived for breakfast on 2/23 about 20 minutes before our reservation, and were seated almost immediately. The staff was friendly and explained everything to us, as we had never eaten there before. Neither one of us were very impressed with the food on the buffet. It was ok if you were paying about $20/pp, but for the price I thought the quality would be a lot better. The characters were great and we got our picture taken with all of them. Would probably stick to the buffet at the Crystal Palace though.

Pros:

characters, friendly staff

Cons:

food was below par, high priced
