It has been three years since I stayed here. It is a nice hotel, but because I am not a sports enthusiast, (unlike my hubby) it is my least fave of the three All-Stars. still overall, a great resort.

Pros:

clean, nice pool area, good food court

This is an awesome resort. I am from a family of musicians except hubby, who is a sports enthusiast), so the themes here are pretty awesome for me. Always clean, mouse keeping is always friendly, and in my opinion, has the best food choices of the three All Star resorts.

Pros:

just all around great!

Review of All Star Movies Resort (Value Resort)

I have stayed at all the Values, except for Art of Animation, but All Star Movies is the one that began my on-site stays. Now I rotate the Values out year after year and Movies still remains my favorite 🙂 I would especially recommend it for people with small children because of the giant Disney icons.

Pros:

great themes, food court, cleanliness

Review of Disney's Beach Club Resort Concierge Level

Second time staying here in the last 2 years. It was enjoyable. We did not do the dining plan as the CL and dining plan last time was way too much eating. It was convenient for breakfast and light snacks after swimming or coming back from the parks. It was convenient to have beverages available. Also able to be there some nights for the desserts and cordials, which we missed the last trip.

The lounge area is a little small but if it was busy we just got a tray and went back to the room. This was actually preferred sometimes- we could be eating and keeping an eye on the kids showering etc.

The whole experience makes it worthwhile. It's the little things that make the difference. When we come back to Disney- we will stay here again.

Pros:

convenience and service

Cons:

lounge a littel small

Review of Bay Lake Tower (Disney Vacation Club)

Stayed in a one bedroom villa from 6/21-6/25 w/lake view. Paul the guard at the front gate had all of us laughing before we even got out of our car. Arrived at 12:30 pm and our room was ready, did the online check in so the the check in at BL took about five min. Room was spotless and on our second day house keeping unexpectedly cleaned our room and folded our clothes. Lake view is the way to go, you can go up to the deck to see the MK fireworks and you can see the electric water parade from your room, plus the lake view is less points than a MK view which over looks the parking lot. Our villa was on the fifth floor where the bridge to the Contemporary is located so it was very short trip to get something to eat or to get to the Monorail. Nice pool and slide, pool could be a little deeper and a little cooler. This was our first stay at Bay lake and we would stay there again for sure.

Pros:

Monorail, close to MK, viewing MK fireworks

Cons:

none

Review of Mara - Jambo House

This was our first stay at AKL for our family of six. After checking in everyone was hungry. Mara was the logical choice. We found the ordering system a bit confusing since it's not like the other counter service locations. You select your food and a CM writes down the order. You take a slip to the cash register to pay, and are then given a pager. You pick up the food when the pager buzzes. I understand that Disney is trying to reduce the time you want in line, but this system seems to cause even more chaos. That being said, our lunch was very good. The hand-carved sandwich was tasty and generous. There is a nice condiments bar that was full and tidy. The falafel pita was a hit with my DD age 13. Be sure to order the couscous and not the fries. It was yummy. We also had the black-eye pea soup and the butternut squash soup and both were very good. The pea soup was so filling that it could have been a meal all on it's own. Mara offers more than chicken nuggets and burgers which is a welcomed change. We plan on stopping by again during vacation next year.

Pros:

quality food

Cons:

confusing ordering system

Review of 1900 Park Fare Character Breakfast

This was our third visit to 1900 Park Fare. While we have always enjoyed this meal, it seems that the food quality/ selection was better this time. The lobster eggs Benedict was a real stand out along with the hash. Meeting Pooh, Tigger, Alice, The Hatter and Mary Poppins was fantastic. The interaction did not seem rushed. The location is beautiful and it is so easy to hop on the monorail and be in the MK in no time. Our only major concern was that the server did not clear the dishes promptly. It is not appetizing to look at a stack of cold plates.

Pros:

quality and seating

Cons:

clearing dishes

Review of Boma Flavors of Africa Dinner - Jambo House

This was our first visit to Boma after dining at Jiko several years ago. Boy, do I wish we had come here before. Our meal was excellent. Our server was attentive and kept all the glasses full and the dishes cleared away. My parents joined us, and this made me a little nervous at first as my mother is not an adventurous eater at all. I didn't need to worry all all. There is more than enough to keep children and those with a limited palate happy. Those who wish to try new things will have a field day here. Everything was fresh; nothing wilted under the heat lamps. We loved the crusted salmon, the curry chicken and the spicy green beans. I had the mushroom soup and the seafood stew and both were delish. For years I have heard people rave about zebra domes and now I understand why! This IS an expensive meal, no doubt. But for our family who has visited WDW many time, this was worth it for such a unique experience. If you have enjoyed Tusker House, run- do not walk, to Boma. We will be back for sure.

Pros:

Just delish!

Cons:

price

Review of Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Disney Springs West Side

First visit to Splitsville. I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries and an iced tea. Generous portion of pork with a sweet BBQ sauce. The crinkle-cut fries were the frozen, previously prepared type. The iced tea tasted like instant, not fresh brewed. Bill total $18.25 with tax and tip. Seemed a bit high, should have been $4/$5 less.

Pros:

Portion size, speedy service

Cons:

Price, quality of fries and iced tea
