I was there June 10th, and ordered a turkey BLT sandwich for lunch. It was tasty, fresh, and a good sized portion. I didn't order a pastry because I wanted to try the new ice cream shop in France.

Pros:

tasty food, good portion

The food here is good, not as good as Chef Mickey's but good. The service was excellent, and we were seated before our ADR time. The only draw back was the people at the table before us, they would not let the characters go, and would not allow my daughter to have her time with the characters. They would chase after the characters when they left their table and the dad would encourage them to do things like"pull tiggers tail". They would not move or get out of the way for us to take photos. It was so bad I really thought the character handlers should have intervined.

Pros:

good food excellent service

Cons:

Review of Jiko - The Cooking Place - Jambo House

My wife and I ate at Jiko recently and found the food to be great. The atmosphere was wonderful for a nice quiet dinner. Much better than Le Cellier and California Grill.

For an entree my wife had the Pan-seared Yello Tail Snapper and I had the Seared Barbarie Duck Breast. Both were fabulous! For appetizers I had the Grilled Wild boar tenderloin and my wife had the Jiko salad.

The service was also very good and the cast members were very attentive to our needs.

Pros:

Great food and service, atmosphere

Review of Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (Disney Vacation Club)

We stayed at the Villas and again it was a great experience. The cast members at WL are very friendly and helpful. We had done on-line check in and so when we arrived a young lady brought us our packet and even though we arrived at 11AM our two bedroom was ready.

The Theming at the Lodge is one of the best at WDW and we love the "North Woods" feel.

The proximity to the Magic Kingdom is great with just a short boat ride and the bus service to the other parks was very good.

Pros:

Boat to Magic Kingdom, Artist Point

I ordered the Beef Udon, because I'd read the chicken was thigh meat, and I don't care for dark meat. The noodles were big and chewy, and the beef was shaved thin and rolled in a wad. Blech. I ate it, because I don't like wasting food. I didn't get sick or anything, but I wouldn't order that item again. I'll only go back if I'm with someone who really wants sushi.

Pros:

Very clean, pleasant staff

Cons:

Didn't care for the food.

I ate there at 8:30 PM on the last day of the last Star Wars Weekend, as a last resort (Backlot Express was closed.) I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad, which comes with a sesame vinigrette dressing. I asked for and got the dressing on the side. It was very good - many times dressing is too sweet for my taste, but this was just right. I hadn't realized that they had Darth Vader cupcakes. I mentioned to one of the waitstaff that if I'd known they had them, I would have ordered one, she gave it to me! She said they were closing soon, and this was the last day, and there were only a few left. Wow! It was not only delicious, but it looked really cool. I ate the whole thing, and it was worth every calorie!

Tasty food, pleasant staff

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

I guess I've been sort of a "deluxe" snob (Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort) but I just returned from a short stay at Pop Century and I am in love! Now that I'm retired and the deluxe resorts are just too pricey for my budget, I decided to give POP a try and I'm so glad I did!
I stayed in a "preferred" pool view room and loved the location. It was in Bldg 4 in the 60's section and just steps away from the main building and the Hippie Dippy pool. I don't mind the noise from the pool. To me it is just part of the fun.

The room was clean and very comfortable. For me and my mother, it was a good size although I could see how it would be a bit cramped with a larger family. The beds were very comfortable and there was everything there that I needed, expect maybe a coffee maker. I missed that.

The food court had a good variety of things. I ordered a turkey sandwich which was basically a Thanksgiving meal between two slices of bread - turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. It was wonderful and huge!

I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed sitting at the pool and hearing all the "old" songs. Mom and I walked over the bridge to see Art of Animation. It was a pleasant walk but was cut short because there was a storm brewing.

I frequently go solo to Disney for one or two nights since I am a Florida resident and I'm definitely planning on going back to POP in a few months (when it cools down!) It's my new favorite resort.
It is a great resort and I had a great time.

Pros:

the price, fun factor,

My family ate here for the 1st time on 5/11 and what an experience we had! We had a table right in front of the center waterfall and the resident gorilla troop-LOVED IT! Our server, Izabella, was great-friendly, funny, and nice to talk to. Our food was excellent (ribs, chicken, and steak were all delicious!) and can you say VOLCANO (we loved this dish-huge and presentation was great!)! What really made our night though was when the staff came over to sing us a song for our 13th wedding anniversary and stayed to converse with us for a few minutes-they had us laughing so hard with their stories and jokes-best dining experience we've had at WDW! We will definitely be back at Christmas 2014!

Review of Star Wars Weekends (Disney's Hollywood Studios)

A Star Wars weekend just happened to be going on during our adults-only trip in early June, and it was a much bigger deal than we had expected. There were several high-profile autograph signings, characters, a parade, and Disney characters in Star Wars costumes (along with many fans wearing Star Wars costumes of their own). It was fun to see Chewbacca and ewoks walking around, along with Storm Troopers and others.

Lines for character pictures were outrageously long, as were lines for autographs. We're not big Star Wars fans, so we just had fun watching, but for the true fans, this event requires definite planning to make sure you get the most out of it. Apparently, Fast Passes are available in limited quantities for select autograph sessions and we noticed people lining up for photo ops long before the schedule time. The parade drew a massive crowd as well. We caught a good portion of the parade as it was shown on the large video monitor under Mickey's hat.

While this all made for a unique experience for us grown ups, we will avoid Star Wars weekends on any future trips. Fast Passes for all the popular rides were "sold" out before noon (thankfully, we were braced for this and secured Toy Story Mania passes first thing), and standby lines ranged from 90 - 120 minutes.

The worst of it though was attempting to navigate through stores, particularly ones with Star Wars merchandise. I had a heckofa time buying the R2D2-themed Mickey Mouse ears as a gift due to massive throngs of people, many of whom just weren't as considerate as they should have been.

I imagine dining options are limited too, without prior reservations. We camped out at the 50s Prime Time bar right when it opened, so we were quite comfortable there with cocktails and aps, but wow did we see tons of walk-ins turned away at the counter.

Best advice: plan, plan, plan for this event!

Pros:

Fun to see characters from the movies

Cons:

Crowds

Review of Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch

Let me first say, I frequent LTT every visit to "The World". Ooey, goey toffee cake is the best dessert! Unfortunately, my last visit was not very magical, but all in all the food was still great. I had ADR for a party of 10 with a EVC scooter, which was included on the ADR. After waiting and hour then leading my party of 10 through the restaurant the waitress could not seat us. Had my father(scooter) waiting in the middle of the restaurant while everybody walked around him. We waited another 15 minutes to be seated. Waitress kept asking my father if he could transfer. My father is a recent amputee and was unable. As stated before, we enjoy this restaurant and actually are going back this fall. We hope to not have another issue. Still highly recommend LTT but when giving your name upon arrival, remind them of handicap vehicles!

great food
