Review of The Wave - Breakfast

We tried breakfast at the Wave after reading about the Sweet Potato pancakes on their menu. All I can say is INCREDIBLE! They were both sweet and savory, very moist & full of flavor. The Pecan honey butter was wonderful, and you only needed a bit of syrup. The Wave has become our 2nd "must-go" breakfast spot along with the Kona Café.

Tried this instead of going to pizza planet. have never been a fan of CS in HS. We were there 12/3-12/14. We ate lunch after light motor action and had no trouble finding seating. on the DP ordered 2 club sandwiches, 2 buffalo chicken, 1 kids chicken nuggets. there were only 4 nuggets so I shared my buffalo chicken sandwich and gave my dessert to DS. 3 chocolate, 1 banana dessert. Desserts meh but would go back for the sandwich again. Shaded seating was a plus and ample seating a bigger plus.

pleanty of seating, menu varietyCons:

We visited on our trip 12/3-12/14 and did the fantasmic package. The were 4 adults and 1 child and we had the DP. As an App we got two Calami that came with a spicy marinara, pesto, and a honey mustard vinaigrette. 1 mussel which was good a couple empty shells but nothing to complain about. 1 huge ceasar salad and for DS9 the minestrone soup which was flavorful but had chic peas which my child doesn't care for so we switched apps I took his soupd and he took my calamari. Everyone enjoyed their apps. The serve rolls with butter and olive oil with herbs which we enjoyed. For meals DS9 tried something new and got chicken parm. the chicken was on the small side but it was fine since he doesn't eat a lot of meat. he said he would get again which means it was good since chicken isn't his fave. the adults all ordered the steak and mac and cheese. the mac and cheese was so yummy but I would have preffered the steak not lay on it. They brought out a hat and icecream for my son to celebrate his bday. For us adults there was a sampler of dessert, a cheesecake of sorts, two pannacote,3 mini cream puffs, a chocolate thing and the spaghetti and meatball cupcake. All was good but I don't enjoy the dessert sampler, I would prefer they go back to the old way of letting each person order what they would like. Definitely will go next trip. We sat in the mickey section for fantasmic, never sat there before always the right said of the ampitheatre. Lots of people in before us even though we arrived promptly when it said to arrive. Went to the 630 show and there were two shows that night. We ate at lunch time at noon. Minimal wait for a table.

This was our first time and it was great! Top 2 counter service for our trip 12/3-12/14. We had the DP. We got 1 mandarin salad, 3 beef lomein and 2 fried rice, and 2 banana and 2 chocolate. instead of getting a meal for DS9 he asked for fried rice which was a snack credit and it was plenty for his hungry appetite. It was larger than a pint but smalled than a quart. It was chicken fried rice but really barely any chicken at all in it which was fine for him as he usually doesn't eat that much meat. My parent's also used a snack credit for the fried rice with their meals and it was a ton. The lomein came ina quart container but wasn't filled to the top like if you went to a Chinese take out but there was still plenty and no one went away hungry. they even had low sodium soysauce offered. We will definintely go back next trip the flavor was great and the portion filled everyone and it was a great value on the plan and decent value if paying cash. No complaints and the birds were about equal to or a little less than flame tree. there is less seating but still was fine. We will definitely go back!

We eat here every trip. this trip we had 1 child's hotdog with grapes carrots and soda. 2 ribs, 1 salad, and 1 chicken. The beans were more BBQ sauce based than sweet and the coleslaw was a bit dry nothing to rave about. The food was good thought. My child was still hungry and we ordered onion rings. the serving was quite big and he really enjoyed them. DS is almost 10 in a few weeks so his appetite this trip was different than in the past and we found that children's meals didn't cut it for portion or variety for his taste. For dessert we had the chocolate and the lime. Good but again not a must have. Not sure if we will go next trip since we tried Yak and Yeti an really enjoyed that a lot.

This was our 3rd stay at POR. We stayed Dec4-14 with the 3rd being at POP. We will never do POP again and there was such a difference in checkin, and children. POP checkin and out was one issue after another but at POR they were prepared, efficient and even fixed the fact the pop didn't check us out even thought we went to the desk and checked out in person based on what POP suggested.
We had a royal quest room facing the quiet pool in Oak Manor. The room was so awesome compared POP. The fireworks head board the genie lamp faucet all the little details were great. We had a handicap room while my parent's had a regular room. The bathroom in our room had one sink while theirs had two. They had a a drape separating the bathroom from the beds while we had a wall and pocket door. The beds were queen and comfy. Mousekeeping was good my son wrote a thank you note for towel animals and a towel cake and they left him another. We ate at the food court more than ever before and we had no complaints. The food was always fresh and ample especially the make your own pasta.
Occasionally the buses seemed long and we had to stand often which is hard at times with two senior parent's and a child with health issues. A lot of times we would get our son seated and my husband would stand in front of him and we would separate and stand in the back. The pool was quiet and we enjoyed swimming every morning and breakfast by the pool. This is my parent's favorite resort. I'm glad we stayed here for the trip and POP only 1 night. Oh and the boat to DTD is always peaceful and never a long wait and you always get a seat. While next trip we'll probably try something different it is just because we want to go to AKL not because we don't like it here and I'm sure we'll be back.

We have never stayed at a value usually a moderate occasionally a deluxe. this trip we knew we would arrive in the evening before our ressies at POR so we thought we would try a value for one night. Originally I wanted All Start Movie but they couldn't accommodate so we opted for POP. The grounds were manicured and the rooms were clean. If that was all that I was evaluating I would return. It is basic, no embellishments in the room but fine if you aren't using the room a lot. My problem stems with check in and out. We checked in at 7pm and the woman who helped us kept us there for 45 minutes wheile she was on hold with mouse keeping to find out if our room was ready because we had a special VIP cleaning due to my son's health issue. We also had requested a handicap room for a wheel chair. We were a party of 2 adults and 1 child for 1 room and my parents had a separate ressie for a room as well. 45 minutes later we were sent to our room. When we arrived on the 3rd floor there were two rooms with the same number. WHAT? so we went to my parent's room and I called the front desk to find out which was ours. Turned out both. I was the handicap room with a King and 1 was 2 doubles not handicapped, the rooms connected. Didn't make sense at all. At the front desk the woman said since we were switching resorts in the morning we should come down and check out in person. So in the morning we did just that or so we thought. The woman at the desk took our names punched it in the computer and said we were all set. But we weren't. At POR we went to check in and found out that we weren't checked out at the other hotel at all. The woman at POR made it easy and took care of it. She checked us out and then checked us in.
Oh and the running screaming kids were too much in the lobby just ridiculous. We all agreed we will not go back if there is a choice and we always have a choice. I would try a different value though based on the room and the room only. Glad we were only there for 1 night.

First off this resort is great visually, the colors and theming are the best as only Disney can deliver.
We stayed in the little mermaid room in building 9. It was just myself and my niece (9) so there was more them enough room for us. The details in the room where wonderful. I think however if there was more them two of us there would never have been enough room for our clothes. Because the dresser has the fridge in half of it you only have 3 small drawers. I used the hangers and hung a lot of my clothes as we where there for 10 nights and had lots of clothes.
I did notice there seamed to be a lot more noise from others here then in any other resort I have stayed in, including the Pop and music resorts. Bathroom noise, doors slamming and babies crying well into the night.
The other major thing that I notice was the room never got dark. The curtains where thin so the light from outside would shine though. I am used to a dark black room at night and I had a hard time sleeping with all the light
The walks to the rooms does not seams long at first but gets longer as the days go on. LOL 🙂
The pools are wonderful. We used both the mermaid and the big blue pool and we loved them.
The food left something to be desired, We loved the breakfasts, we tried both the standard Disney waffles but really liked the yogurt parfait. We tried dinner a couple of times but found it not very good. The staff however were very nice and service was fast even at busy times.

I like Napa Rose, a restaurant that Disney is rightly very proud of. However, while I remember that the meal was good, I do not remember what I had at the meal, despite eating there only one week ago. It seems that I should be able to remember it more. I remember the server and the amazing service she gave us, but I honestly can't even begin to think what sort of food I ordered. That seems to be a bad sign.

I don't like fried green tomato sandwiches, but my party enjoys them, and this is the only place on property to get them. Its nice to see unique menu items, when so much of Disney has become homogenized. The rest of the menu is limited. My only concern was how slow the service was. My party was in line and ordering and I went elsewhere to find something else to it. I found something, walked back with it, and they were still at the window waiting for their food! For a counter service restaurant it seemed to be very slow.
