We ate here for dinner as a party of 8 on January 26, 2014. The atmosphere was very fun. We had a server who stayed in character very well. I do recommend bringing a sense of humor. Our server at one point told me (the mom of 4 kids) to mind my own beeswax when she was getting the kids' drink and dessert orders. Luckily they didn't pick anything crazy and I know I could have made any changes to their order I wanted, but my kids were actually pretty shocked by this. No one tells mom, or anyone for that matter, to mind their own beeswax in our home. So my reaction (laughing so hard I almost cried) was key to helping them gauge their response. Anyway, GREAT food, bring a sense of humor, and have fun!

My family of 4 stayed 2/1/14 - 2/8/14. This is our third time staying at the YC. My daughters who are 9 and 11 love this resort. We have stayed at all levels of Disney resorts and the YC is now our favorite. We enjoyed a few days swimming at Stormalong Bay and had a great time. My daughters would disappear together in this massive pool area and never wanted to leave.
We were upgraded from a standard view to a water view. We could view Illuminations from Epcot every night while sitting on our balcony. It was a great way to end most evenings. The rooms were a perfect size with 2 queen beds and a daybed. It was nice that my daughters each had their own bed. The room was cleaned everyday but we never had any towel animals on this trip. Not a big deal. The fridge kept everything cold and the heat and AC worked fine.
The biggest reason we love this resort is its location to Epcot and HS. The back entrance to Epcot is never crowded and the cast members are always very friendly at this gate. It is less then a 10 min. walk to Epcot and a 10 min. boat ride to HS. Getting to MK,AK and DTD you need to take a bus. Buses usually came very quickly. One time we had to wait over 30 mins. for a bus to MK in the late afternoon.
I would agree with the previous post about the convention people sometimes filling the lobby and being loud. It's not a huge issue but it does take away from some of the Disney magic. The other issue is no QS options at the YC besides Hurricane Hanna's. The selections are limited and it closed at 6pm every night of our trip. I know it stays open later in the summer. We did take a boat over to Boardwalk and had dinner at ESPN club one night.
The Fastpass+ worked great for all our dining and ride reservations. We were also selected to use fastpass+ for BOG lunch. We did not have to replace a ride fastpass to use the BOG fastpass as I have read in different posts. My family and I think the new fastpass system is a great addition to Disney. We were able to go to parks later and still get on all the main attractions.
Overall we had another wonderful stay at the YC and can't wait for our next trip.

I stayed here last week for my daughter's cheerleading competition. It is basically the same as all the other value resorts. As long as your expectations aren't that high, it serves its purpose as a hotel that caters to sports teams.
The only issue I had was I was in a stretch of rooms in Building 9 (Baseball) that faced a grassy area. The last two mornings of our stay, landscapers began tearing up the grass next to the walkway at 8AM. By tearing up, I mean with heavy machinery. Now the MK had stayed open until 1AM one of these mornings so many of our group were definitely not ready to be woken up that early and that obnoxiously.

I was happy to finally eat at this restaurant and it was worth the wait. I came here with 2 friends and we all throughly enjoyed the whole experience. We arrived with no ADRs and decided to wait for a table on the outdoor patio instead of 45 minutes for an inside table. It was a cool night but was nice and cozy with all the gas heaters. Our server, Danielle, was so wonderful. She patiently answered our many questions and gave us her recommendations when asked. When there was a problem with our appetizer, the manager actually came over to apologize even though we made no fuss about it. We had the chowder, bangers & mash, and the beef with mashed potatoes and fried parsnips. All were very good. The Irish trio playing was very entertaining and engaged their audience.

I ate here last week as part of my daughter's high school cheerleading team dinner. All total, we had a party of around 80 people. This had been arranged well in advance. We were seated in a section of 10 round tables and had great food and service. There had even been an arrangement for a birthday cake for one of the coaches. Everything flowed effortlessly. Since the menu is family-style, this is a great restaurant for large groups.

I ordered the salmon salad and it was very good. However, we could not find a clean table anywhere. The fork dispenser was empty and we had to go to another dispenser across the dining area to get one. I would probably go again.

On a recent trip we thought we would try this restaurant. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated at our reservation time. I got the steak and my wife got Fish and Chips. Both were good but the price was a little high for what we got. However, here is where my gripe is. The whole meal took 3 hrs. Wow were they slow. Since the food was just ok, I probably will not go back again.

I stayed here for 5 days last week for my daughter's cheerleading competition. Over the days, there were quick grab and go purchases and some meal purchases. Overall, it is the same food court at all the value hotels. Food is decent but nothing special; but there are a few things that I didn't care for and I have stayed at a value hotel once a year for the past 5 years because of cheerleading competitions.
First, AS Sports is a hotel that caters to the sports teams that are competing at WDW. When competitions don't end until after 10PM and you don't even get back to the hotel until 11:30, why can't the food options stay open later then midnight? When we arrived back at the hotel, it was 11:40 and upon arriving at the food court, only the hamburger/ hotdog counter and pizza counter were open. Needless to say, the lines got extremely long because so many people came back looking for something to eat. I'm sure they would have been closed had we arrived a little later.
Second, the new Mug policy is terrible. We had numerous problems with the refills not being correct or the number of days wrong. And if you didn't keep your receipt, you were out of luck. I may be back in 2 months so I asked what the policy is and I was told I would have to buy a new mug.
Third, last spring when I was there, there was wine and beer available for purchase in the refrigerators. Now you have to purchase from the bar or giftshop and that closed at midnight.
A couple of good things : my daughter loved the taco salad and I loved that they would grill your hotdog if asked.

I ate here with two friends and we all enjoyed our food very much. I had the Caprese flatbread which was wonderful, especially with the balsamic drizzle. My friends had the pepperoni flatbread and the Italian flatbread sub. Because we had a free counter service coupon, we also chose salads as a side. I was the only one that took advantage of the included desert. I got the chocolate cake but it was so sweet that I couldn't eat it. I would have loved to have gotten the gelato; but was scared it would melt.
