Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

We ( 3 adults) just returned from Port Orleans riverside. We paid extra & stayed in a preferred room, which I highly recommend. We were in Bldg 18 ( alligator Bayou ) which was a short walk to the main Bldg & buses. When we got to the room it was so quiet & peaceful you would not believe you were staying at such a large resort. I loved the fact that when there was a kids party at the old man island pool, there was a quiet pool right behind our bldg. I would highly recommend this resort. We have stayed at Pop Century & port Orleans french quarter in the past

Pros:

Peaceful, multiple pools, extraseating area for breakfast

Cons:

Review of Cooke's of Dublin

Cookes is a hidden gem in the Disney World resort. It doesn’t really get talked about by foodies, but it is my personal favorite of the counter services. I really enjoyed the Chicken Tenders and Fries the last time I went their. It tastes like something you’d get at a table service not a counter. The French Fries are so good here that they seem to have no rival in Disney World. Their much different then the ones that you would usually get at a counter service. Most of the fries used in Disney counters are thin shoestrings. These are stubby uneven steak fries so they taste more like a potato then their counterparts. If you don’t want the Chicken there’s plenty of other stuff to choose from. I don’t think I want to try anything else though because the Chicken Tenders are so good. The Free Refill Machines are a plus, especially on a hot day.

I was so stuffed afterward my Chicken that I had to get my dessert Cookie to go. There’s many desserts to choose from other then that though, like the Strawberry Roll, Fried Candy Bars, and Baked Meringues (w/ strawberry and ice cream). Plus these are things you can’t get anywhere else. Unlike many of the counters at Magic Kingdom which seem to have the same 3 desserts.

The only reason I couldn't give this place a 9 is because of what this place looks like and where it is in Disney World. The atmosphere is very forgettable, all I can remember about it is the chalkboard looking menus. The restaurant is also very tiny, it feels like it's made for Leprechauns. The most that can fit inside the restaurant is probably four to five families. So me and my family had to sit outside at a heavy lawn table and chairs. The location of the restaurant is also really outta the way. Even if you are going to Downtown Disney/Disney Springs it is a bit of a hike to get there.

We attended the star war's dinner, and had a great time. Food was the typical buffet, but filled and plentiful.
Character's where outstanding, the best we have come accross.
The allergy to chocolate was an issue. Every pastry, cupcake was either chocholate or had a chocholate star wars written on it. > Asked the chef he came over and had to get a cheesecake out of the resturant next door and was soooooooooo nice about the whole thing.
Our CM waitress was earning her ear's and she was wonderful and very helpful!

Pros:

Food, character's

Review of Sci-Fi Dine-in Theatre Lunch/Dinner

We attended the star wars breakfast, and was VERY dissappointed.
Being a party of 2 we where once again "hitch hikers". And placed in back seat with a family in front of us.
The Character's had no idea that our party was not the entire car and we where skipped by several character's who took pictures with kids from 1st row and then left. We had to track down a character handler and explain this.
It was sooooooooooo dark in the theater that sis almost ate the chocholate on the danishes and she is allergic. We could not see it. Food was warm but lack luster and since so where character's I would not do this again.
We really looked forward to this event and where very dissappointed.

Pros:

Theming

Cons:

Too dark

We have breakfast here at 1030am. Maybe cause it was a later time our experience was not good. Our server came with drinks and 10 minutes later brought the check. When I said I had a tables in wonderland card replied "stick it in the bill and I will get to it". CM staff all standing in alclove staring at guest eating, while talking and laughing.
Had omlete chef would spoke very little english and did not get our order correct, when stated didn't want onion, and peppers > he said "next in line" and would not correct order.
Many items where almost empty on counter and not being refilled for people their at that time. Cleaning up area and room for lunch guest while people just came in to eat breakfast.

Pros:

nice room

Cons:

food, character interaction, staff

Room was serviced daily. No mousekeeping issues.
Loved the washer / dryer in unit. Loved the jetted tub after parks.

Review of Disney's Beach Club Resort Concierge Level

Waited a bit before posting this because it makes me sad to say our stay wasn't up to par. We had 6 club rooms and one 2BR villa as part of a 8-night 50th birthday family celebration for a group of 24. The location is fantastic and the pool was great for the entire group. The club staff and the overall club-level room conditions were less than stellar--dirty carpets, sheets, chipped wall paint, stainted lampshades, etc. We were told the rooms are being refurbished this year so post that, I would assume they will be worthy of their $500+ a night price tag. Club staff was not up to usual standards--perhaps because we weren't terribly pleased with the rooms and let them know that. Overall a disappointment.

Pros:

Location, pool

Cons:

Rooms need refurb, concierge staff

Review of Columbia Harbour House

This is probably my 2nd favorite counter service in all of the Magic Kingdom (Guest is 1st). It has a solid lineup on its menu board. You can choose from multiple things like A Lobster Roll, Shrimp, Salmon, Nuggets, Battered Fish and if you can’t choose between the last two you can get both of them. I made a mistake and got the Chicken Nuggets again, for some reason I always get them when I’m there. It was good, but I was a bit Nuggeted out by the time this day came. I’ve got to remember to space out on my vacation days that I have Nuggets on or have it just once. For dessert me and my family all got and enjoyed the Apple Blossom, which tastes remarkably like a Mcdonald’s Apple Pie.

I love the blue dresses and lacy white aprons that the staff wears behind the counter, it really helps you get into the theme. You just have to pretend that the computer their ringing up your order on doesn’t exist or is a form of witchcraft.

I love going upstairs and sitting in the usually quiet dining area. One of my favorite things to do is to look out the window and stare at the people in line for Haunted Mansion (Creepy). Columbia is a great place to explore when you’re not scarfing down food. It looks like an old wooden pirate ship inside, complete with its own female figureheads that are found throughout the place.

Menu, Atmosphere
