Review of Flower and Topiary Gardens, Play Areas in Epcot

We attended the 2018 Festival, and once again, it was a great addition to an already great theme park. There are even more corners to explore this year, or so it seemed. I liked the layout changes of some of them - they seemed to be better designed to handle more crowds, without squishing everybody in. We particularly enjoyed all the extra Disney character topiary models. I wish there had been photographers available at all of them. Some souvenir items were severely overpriced, for what you were getting. We got the pandora charm set, which at least provides some value. Overall, it was a great addition to Epcot, and I hope it grows (pun intended), specifically into every country's area around World Showcase, with even more national theming (like Lady And The Tramp in Italy).

Pros:

Those Topiaries!

Cons:

some themed-item prices

We have stayed on grounds at Disneyworld for our past several trips, but we especially like All Star Sports, and never so much as our last trip. We had the good fortune/misfortune to be at Disney for Hurricane Irma. Being originally from New Orleans, this was not our first experience with a hurricane. It was, however, our first experience at Disneyworld. I cannot say enough about the actions of everyone there. Every single person, from the maids to the cashiers to the concierge desk cast members were so kind, so helpful, so patient and friendly, it was unbelievable. They were overwhelmed and often treated poorly by people who were angry and frightened, yet their level of service never faltered. They prepared huge amounts of food for greater numbers of people then ever expected, prepared all of us for what was coming, even if it meant they weren't sure if they would be able to get home themselves. But Disney provided for all of them as well. As far as we are concerned, they went above and beyond in every area, even opening their doors to stranded motorists wherever they had vacancies. We will always go back, and, in fact, are going back in March. Thank you, Disney!

Pros:

All things, Disney, especially to cast members.

Cons:

None!

Review of Crystal Palace Breakfast

I have been to the Crystal palace since I was five years old, multiple times, and I am twenty two now. My most recent time was lunch at the very end of August:and as always, it did not dissappoint me. I was able to eat as much from the buffet, unlimited sodas, excellent service, and the character experiences were incredible. I ate alone, which is an experience most people do not do. However, I never felt out of place my entire time, because I was too busy with the amazing food. Fruits, vegetables, and plenty of vegetarian options for me! However, they also have meat options, and a plethora of adorable and delicious deserts as well. My favorite design was the chocolate honey pot tartlet. It was so wonderful to see the characters interacting with the children and families, making their day all the more magical. If you are concerned about the price, by all means go for breakfast! Before I was an annual passholder, I always went for breakfast, as it is about $20 less per person!

Pros:

Character experiences, food, quantity, amount of choices, service, the parade!

Cons:

A bit crowded, a little noisy

We stayed without kids in the Little Mermaid section (standard room, not suite), during March 2018. I loved the theming at this resort! The walk from the main area to our Little Mermaid room was very manageable, even with a freshly injured leg, and sent us walking past really great Lion King theming as well. The main pool area theming was outstanding. Do not miss a chance to just sit there, and soak it all in. Vacation is about escape, and we did! Even without kids! The room was comfortable even though it's small. I'd recommend WDW put hooks along the vanity curtain area, for true privacy if you want to dress in that area privately, as the curtains don't sit flush against the wall. I even spent some time and soaked in the bath tub to enjoy the theming in there! I would not have made this WDW trip at all, if I hadn't been able to find Value prices with good accommodation on property, because, although I've stayed concierge level at Beach Club in years past, we couldn't manage that this time. We stay on property for the safety, theming, access, and quality that comes even at the lowest price points (unlike the lowest prices at neighbouring hotels). There were no glitches this trip, although we did encounter the new fee for packages sent here ahead of us, and some long lines (even though we had done online check-in). I really appreciate the effort being made for quality, in value resorts, especially to meet the healthier food choices that some of us absolutely need, and many of us want. They had a really tasty spinach dish that I hope to enjoy again on my next visit. Lower prices should equate with fewer services, not subpar quality.

Pros:

Well themed, good quality even at the lowest prices.

Cons:

curtain needs to have a hook to secure the privacy of the dressing area.

My first and so far only WDW tour. Well worth the cost. The guides did an excellent job of allowing us just the right amount of time in each location to take pictures, ask questions, etc. before moving on. The lunch selection was great and they had no problem providing a special meal for my daughter who has an allergy.

Pros:

great animal interaction, leisurely paced, very knowledgeable guides, great photos

Cons:

none

Review of Rainforest Room

My husband and I LOVED the rainforest room. I thought the price was great, considering all you had access to and that limited amount of people were granted access, making it free of clutter. They offered salt scrubs, water, and tea. You also gain access to their much- larger-than-your-stateroom showers. My husband and I often found ourselves dozing off on their heated tile recliners. I would caution you against the different rainforest showers, though. The water is cold and NOT relaxing. We found ourselves chuckling at a few other guests screaming/yelping from surprise. Maybe it's suppose to do something to your senses... But isn't worth it to me. The jacuzzi that overlooked ocean was amazing, but didn't work right when we first used it on our cruise. But they quickly had maintenance fix the issue.

Pros:

Sauna, steam rooms, heated tile loungers, Jacuzzi.

Cons:

Rainforest showers were too cold!

Saw this in June for the first time, had a table right in front of the stage, and it was so much fun. The food was amazing, the show was great, and the characters were friendly and a lot of fun. Can't wait to take my parents next year.

Pros:

Dinner and show, you can't go wrong.

Cons:

Pioneer Hall can be difficult to get to, but use the Minnie Vans and it will drop you off right there.
