Let me start by saying that CBR will never be my first choice at WDW.
12/3-12/6
Our reserved room was a pirate room in Trinidad. We were hoping to change to a regular room closer to Old Port Royal. We stopped at the front desk and they were able to move us to Aruba building 51. The new room was at a reduced rate.
As promised our room was ready within an hour. The room was clean and well maintained.
While waiting for our room we stopped by the Banana Cabana for drinks. Definitely a great place to hang out.
We found the check-in area confusing when it was crowded.
The food court ordering system works well
Grab n go was convenient but had limited choices.
The new Skyliner towers in Jamaica and Aruba look out of place. It should be interesting how the Skyliner effects the CBR experience.
We had a nice quick stay

From the moment we pulled up and were greeted with Welcome Home until we left the staff, decor, activities, animals and food were wonderful. We stayed at a 1 bedroom villa and it is so spacious! Great layout with 2 bathrooms! Our teens slept one on the pullout sofa the other pullout chair, they are big 6ft. plus guys and were comfortable. The king bed was great and I love that you get a door to the large balcony from the master bedroom. The tub was great and I made use of a nice relaxing bath, it's vacation afterall. we only used the kitchen for coffee, cereal stuff like that but it's a full kitchen and can easily do more cooking. We were on the Dining plan so didn't need to. We had a standard view and made use of the viewing areas around the hotel. There also was some work on the outside of the building which meant 2 days we were unable to make use of the balcony.
Pros:
Beautiful well themed, friendly staff, and zebras and giraffesCons:
far from everything although we didn't mind. The bus system could seriously be improved if going in the morning and evening it's fine but not reliable in mid afternoon.Reviewed by annat856 Review Date: 12/05/2018

We went here last week for dinner. This is a good buffet and a pretty good selection for the adventurous eater. My favorite soup is the Mulligatawny, so good! I also like the fufu and mash pototoes were good as well as a pasta salad. The desserts just were not as good this time. I actually preferred the ones at Hollywood and Vine. Nice waitress and kept up with our plates and refills as well as asking if I wanted coffee with dessert. The place was hectic! I prefer breakfast and will try to do that next time.
Pros:
Nice selection of entrees and sides, great soupCons:
The price has gone way up!Reviewed by annat856 Review Date: 12/05/2018

My family of 4 had dinner here last week. The food was very good and a nice selection as well. The characters: Minnie, Mickey, Daisey and Donald Duck came round to take pictures and their Christmas outfits were really nice. But there seemed to be no pattern to how they toured the dining areas. It was a long time to wait for them all to come around. It was our last thing planned for the day so we didn't mind waiting as it gave us a chance to relax. At the front of the restaurant Santa Goofy posed with a photopass photographer to take pictures as well. We opted to get ours pics with Goofy till the end. There was a good selection and everyone was able to find enough to eat to fill them up, a tall order with 2 teen boys and hungry DH. I loved the meatballs, green beans, salmon and the desserts are the mini ones all very good!
Pros:
Great way to celebrate holidays, the characters were wonderful and really interacted with us, good food and great desserts!Cons:
Expensive, chaotic and spent alot of time waiting for characters to make it us.Review of Be Our Guest - Counter Service Breakfast

My family of 4 ate here last week. This is counter service for breakfast. We all ordered Gaston's Feast. And I had a Mimosa. They bring the breakfast out on a serving cart and serve you a platter of pastries. Actually we were given two platters of pastries. The food was very good: scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, bacon and sausage. Served with a small bowl of fruit. My fruit was mostly melons but some of us got a lot of grapes which I would have preferred. It was very crowded and pretty crazy trying to get a clean table. Our reservation was for 19am and the staff was unable to keep up with the turnover. We sat in the room with the music box. We really love the castle and enjoyed our meal. And the staff did end up getting a handle on clean up as we ate.
Pros:
Great use of a CS credit if on the dining plan, food is good, and the castle is lovely especially all decorated for ChristmasCons:

We all agreed that this was our best meal of our trip! Connie was our server and she was great! My DH and DS18 had the baked stuffed lobster, and they loved it! They were served with roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus. My DS15 had the lobster mac&cheese with spinach. He called it the fancy mac&cheese and loved it. I had the shrimp and grits. The presentation was beautiful! the dish had just enough heat without overpowering the rest of the flavors. Wonderful! DH and I had lobster bisque instead of dessert. The 2 teens had the wave, which is their fav dessert. We love this restaurant and love the tank and seeing all the marine life.
Pros:
Love the decor and aquarium, great service, and wonderful foodCons:

My party of 4 ate here last week for dinner. It was very crowded but we were seated quickly. Our server was Francesca and she was sweet and attentive. We had 3 lasagna and one pepperoni pizza. The pizza comes from a different kitchen and took a little longer but we knew this ahead of time and my teen loved it! Our portions were quite large and it was very tasty. I also had a red sangria with my meal. My DH and sons all had the ugly but good sundae and loved it! I had the zeppolis with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, yum!
Pros:
Good service, affordable prices, the pizza ovens are artwork they are so pretty!Cons:

Has really gone downhill since our last visit about 3 yrs ago.
Pros:

Prices absolutely outrageous. Example: Seventeen ($17) for Reuben sandwich and almost $5 for a coke. Portions and quality mediocre at best. Will never return and will advise others of this experience.Review of Beach Club Villas (Disney Vacation Club)

This was our second stay at BCV 1br., but 1st since remodel. Not crazy about several changes. The new bath tub area is enclosed and not open to bedroom, as it was previous. There is no jetted tub. Its a new "old" style soaker tub. But if you want to relax in bath, you can't visit with people in bedroom, you are walled off. Also by closing this wall > there is virtually no where to put anything you need within reach of tub. The sink counter is quiet a stretch and where the faucets is, is only a small area. So if you have soap, sponge, wash cloth, face cream, etc... no where to put them. The floor is a good drop. Then they put the tub up on an elevated platform as was the older version but you get out of tub and remember step down or your going to trip.
ceiling fans have all been removed for a stand ceiling light.
We loved the quiet pool, but unfortunately if was closed for half our stay. I called and asked front desk, and maintaneous about pool both responded "its closed?" No one knew why. Then magically it was open again.
location is great. no problem with transportation and excellent parking.
Pros:
location, transportation. pools, restaurants and barsCons:
Pool closed for no reason, and no one knew why. housekeeping broke my xmas mickey lights and cleaned up broken glass but tried to hide the broken one > so no one owned up to it. washer and dryer in 1 bedroom is a real plus. staff at front desk where nice.Reviewed by Georgia Di Natale Review Date: 11/29/2018

Had dinner at Akershus last night. In my opinion the choice and quality of food was very mediocre. The salad bar was poor. The only two Norwegian items were the smoked salmon and one kind of cheese. For the rest could have been an American appetizers buffet. As main course I tried the meatballs and weren’t much better than the ones you can have at Ikea! The desserts really were not impressive. You can have much better desserts at the Norwegian bakery across from Akershus. Being Disney I was disappointed. Compared to the past experiences there I was amazed at the change of quality. For me a rip off. In addition the restrooms were really dirty. This aspect is also strange because usually restrooms are really taken care for at every park.
