Review of Avatar Flight of Passage

This is an amazing experience that is difficult to describe. It’s like no other ride. It is intense, and with all of the “pre show” prep, it could be a bit frightening for smaller children. You do not need to have seen the Avatar movie to be able to enjoy the ride. I am prone to motion sickness and cannot make it the whole way through without closing my eyes several times. I have still ridden this multiple times because it is an amazing experience. I have found that wearing anti- nausea wrist bands help. The rest of my family absolutely loves this ride.

Pros:

An experience like no other, memorable

Cons:

Can cause motion sickness, the pre show is a little scary for small kids, very long wait time- get a fastpass.

Review of American Adventure

This show has a large number of influential Americans in it and is a great historical overview of how far American has progressed and how quickly. The audio animatronics are so lifelike that you forget they aren’t real people. Be sure to look at the “list of Featured characters” on the wall while waiting in the lobby so you know who to expect. The Voices of Liberty are an exceptional Acapella singing group who sing patriotic songs in the lobby before the shows.

Pros:

Continuously running, great overview, large indoor theater with comfortable seats. Voices of Liberty pre show.

Cons:

None

Review of Haunted Mansion

Ok, 999 ghosts...but they're friendly ghosts! A classic, original WDW attraction gives you a ride in the dark in "doom buggies", passing various haunted scenes, all narrated by your "ghost host". At the ride's inception, the technology used to "float" Madame Leota in a crystal ball in the air, or to create the ballroom scene, was pretty leading edge and is something to consider. Although by today's standards, it's pretty routine. But it's a fun ride and watch for the hitchhiking ghost surprise at the end.

It's pretty much in the dark and could be scary for smaller children, especially in the pre-show room. It's a continuously-loading ride that you board on a moving belt. Again, in the dark, so watch your step.

Wait times can be lengthy, so best to get a Fastpass or ride early in the morning. Although the queue area was recently updated and it makes the wait entertaining. Definitely a must see if you've never ridden. We make it a point to ride every trip.

Pros:

Fun, original attraction. Lots of things to see - you notice something new just about every time.

Cons:

Pre-show room and loading area are dark so watch your step. Could be scary for smaller children.

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge JAMBO House (Disney Vacation Club)

We landed very late at night. Having a balcony room facing the savannah was amazing. I sat up probably until 2am watching the animals just yards away. The giraffes and zebras were truly amazing. Because this was a last minute trip for us, we only had the opportunity to stay 2 nights before having to move to another hotel. It was a sad day leaving. Being a DVC member and my timeshare with another resort, AK always seems to be sold out (for savannah rooms) by the time my 7 month window opens up. But one day I will be back for sure.

Pros:

Having balcony rooms directly facing the savannahs. And after walking through both Jambo and Kidani, Jambo House is a better location.

Cons:

Not really any cons expect if you don't have a room facing the savannah.

My son raved about the grilled cheese! To me it looked like a pretty run-of-the-mill sandwich but he talked about that meal for the longest time. I tried several times to replicate it at home but never managed that feat. Must have been the extra pixie dust in the recipe!

Pros:

Pretty standard selection of American classics.

Cons:

My family of four very much enjoyed POR. The size of the resort, environment and amenities were perfect for us.

Pros:

Alligator Bayou room slept 5 with pull down Lush landscaping made us feel like we were truly at a resort Good food court and delicious dinner at Boatwrights

Cons:

Long-ish walk to main buildings Boat ride to Disney Springs was overrated. The wait for the boat and boat ride itself took longer than expected. We took a bus back to resort.

My daughter and I just rode this and we really enjoyed it. It's very similar to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree in Disneyland. It has a nice whip to it as it spins around. Just by looking at it, you don't really think it has much action, but once on it you'll love it. Not too wild to scare most kids and there is fun music. As long as the line isn't too long, i would wait for it. We rode it early in the morning and waited about 25 minutes.

Pros:

Fun ride, cute theming and loads quite a lot of people at once.

Cons:

It's on the short side

Guy Fieri has done it again! Teen daughter and I were at Disney Springs looking for some dinner that was quick and reasonable. This fit the bill. She has tenders and fries (seasoning is good) -I had chopped chicken salad. We were both pleased!

Pros:

Yummy chicken, nice outdoor seating, reasonable (for a Disney restaurant).

Cons:

Some of the staff didn't seem that happy.

Review of Jungle Cruise

An original WDW attraction,it's a fun relaxing boat ride, passing audio-animatronic wildlife and various jungle scenes, with your skipper/guide cracking corny jokes and puns along the way. Although it's scripted and you'll hear most of the same jokes each time you ride, the skippers can ad-lib and some of them are pretty funny. Makes you wonder how many stand-up comics got their start here.

It takes a while to load and unload each boat, so wait times can add up quickly. And while there are amusing things to keep you entertained in the queue area, it's still a long wait. So, ride with a Fastpass, or ride first thing in the morning. Or if the standby time is short, hop on. But in my opinion, it's not worth a long wait, and if I don't ride it each time I visit, it's not really a disappointment. But if you haven't seen it, you should go at least once, provided it doesn't take up a good chunk of your time.

Pros:

Fun, original WDW attraction. Good way to get off your feet a bit. Great if you get an entertaining skipper.

Cons:

Boats are slow loading and unloading. Wait times can be lengthy. So avoid the waits with a Fastpass or ride first thing in the morning.
