Review of Walt Disney World Bus System

The buses aren't the funnest way to travel, but Disney has a pretty good system considering all the resorts and people. Overall it's very reliable and when one resort gets slammed with people, they are pretty good about calling in extra buses. But if you just miss a bus at your resort and it's not during opening hours, you many have to wait a bit for the next bus. If you don't like to stand, leave the park an hour before closing. In the morning, you can wait for the next bus if you don't want to stand. If you don't have your own car, you are pretty dependent on Disney buses.

Pros:

The system is pretty efficient

Cons:

Sometimes you have to stand, park closing can be chaos

Review of Walt Disney World Monorail System

I've used the monorail system heavily while staying at the Grand Floridian and Polynesian Villas. It's a relaxing ride with scenic elevated views, however, it does have a habit of "going down" unexpectedly. When this happens, alternate transportation becomes available. For example, the only way to get to Epcot from the Polynesian and Grand Floridian is by monorail. When it goes down, buses become available. If staying at the Polynesian, it's faster to walk to the TTC and then hope on the Epcot monorail. This avoids having to take the loop around the resort monorail and then transferring to the Epcot monorail. My tip would be to allow plenty of travel time if you plan on using the monorail, but as long as you are not in a huge rush, it's a unique and relaxing way to travel.

Pros:

Relaxing

Cons:

Unreliable, do not take if in a hurry

The resort buses at Pop Century are the best. Once they pick you up at the single pick up spot in front of the hotel, the bus goes directly to the chosen park. Morning transportation is great because the buses are lined up and roll in one behind the other. They usually use the extra long buses for the morning trip to the Magic Kingdom

Pros:

At Pop Century there is fast morning service and no stops between resort and park.

Cons:

Longer walk to get to the Pop Century bus stop at each park

After staying at both the Grand Floridian and Polynesian villas, the monorail is easily accessible. However, it's not always reliable. It has a habit of "going down." The monorail is the only mode of transportation to Epcot from these 2 resorts, but if the monorail is down, bus service becomes available. To get to Epcot from the Grand Floridian, it's a long process of 1st taking the resort monorail to TTC and then transfer to the Epcot monorail. From the Polynesian, it's faster to walk to the TTC and then hope on the Epcot monorail. I really enjoy how relaxing the trip is on the monorail with it's elevated views and it's a great way to travel if you're not in a hurry. So allow plenty of time if you are using the monorail for transportation.

Pros:

Relaxing scenic way to travel, Comfortable

Cons:

Can be unreliable, not the fastest mode of transportation

Review of Walt Disney World Bus System

The bus system is the best way of getting around the WDW Resort. It's nice to sit back and relax and let someone drive you around. No need to rent a car and drive. Just sit back and enjoy your Magical Vacation!

Pros:

The buses are on time and run non-stop most of the day and night. You will need to see bus schedule for exact times.

Cons:

If the driver needs to load guests with a motorized scooter, that may take a little extra time. Once they are done loading the scooter, then the other guests can board the bus and depart to the park.

Review of Walt Disney World's Magical Express

The system is well organized and we usually do not have to wait very long at the airport for our bus. We do not let Disney transfer our luggage to the hotel. We carry it ourselves. Our traveling companions opted to let the Magical express bring their luggage to the hotel and it did not arrive until the day after check in. Not a good way to begin a vacation. They now carry their own luggage.

Pros:

Saves money and the hassle of finding a ride to the hotel.

Cons:

Sometimes the luggage gets lost. Take it with you aboard the bus

The buses are a great way to get around the WDW Resort. No need to rent a car and drive. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your Magical Vacation!

Pros:

The buses are on time and run continuously. If you are staying at a Value Resort such as Pop Century, they have their own bus. So, that bus for Pop Century will not make any other stops to pick up other guests.

Cons:

If the bus driver has to load guests with motorized scooters, it can take some extra time for guests to get on and get seated before departure.

This is an unbelievably smooth ride with spectacular views of lots of Disney areas. It proved to be a speedy route to the Pop Century Resort from Hollywood Studios or Epcot. Some guests were leery of riding it, but we all felt safe and comfortable

Pros:

Beautiful view and peaceful ride. Much quicker means of transportation than buses.

Cons:

We all wish it went to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.
