Golden Oak

Posted on
Golden Oak is a community of new homes located at the north end of Disney property. The entrance is off of Vista Boulevard (just east of the Fort Wilderness Campground). The 980-acre community (when finished) will feature the world's largest Four Seasons Resort (444 guest rooms) surrounded by approximately 450 single-family luxury homes. Connecting the various neighborhoods and the hotel will be recreational pathways, footbridges, parks, and gardens, all surrounded by undisturbed natural forest. The master-plan was developed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Although Disney will maintain the day-to-day operation of the community, the land was de-annexed from Reedy Creek and residents will be part of Orange County. Homes and lots are purchased with full ownership. Prices range from $1.5 million to $8 million.

Buena Vista Street and Cars Land

Buena Vista Street, the new entrance to Disney California Adventure, is the main focus of Laura Gilbreath's latest report from the grand reopening festivities at that park. As most Disney fans know, Main Street USA was inspired by Walt Disney's boyhood home of Marceline, Missouri. Buena Vista Street is inspired by Los Angeles in the 1920s and 1930s, where Walt Disney came as a young man full of dreams and ambition. Laura has lots of photos and video, as well as details from the World of Color, enhanced with special Glow with the Show mouse ears.

The Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station opened today (June 15, 2012) at Storybook Circus in the Magic Kingdom. According to blogger Jack Spence, it looks fantastic, and he has photos and videos to prove it. The premise is that Casey Jr. has arrived from out of town and is getting ready for a big show. Casey and some of his circus cars are parked on the turntable, while a few of his friends have already been positioned nearby.
