Dinner at Steakhouse 55

Posted on
Having wound up this year needing to make last-minute reservations for Mother’s Day, I settled on Steakhouse 55 for the very good reasons that a) They give an AP discount, and b) They still had reservations Sunday afternoon. Steakhouse 55 is located in the Disneyland Hotel, just off the Lobby and next door to Goofy’s … Continue reading "Dinner at Steakhouse 55"

Disneyland First Time Visitor – Your Tips

Posted on
Last month I asked for your tips to help AllEars® reader Nancy plan her first trip to Disneyland this fall. Thanks to everyone who responded. In the interests of length, I have edited and combined similar responses. Before we start, though, I wanted to mention that AllEars® blogger Jack Spence wrote a couple of blogs … Continue reading "Disneyland First Time Visitor – Your Tips"

River Belle Terrace – Frontierland Disneyland

Posted on
When River Belle Terrace reopened after a fairly lengthy refurbishment in December 2007, it opened with a new menu, featuring sandwiches and salads rather than fried chicken and ribs. Though Lee and I have eaten breakfast here several times since then (love those Mickey Mouse pancakes!), we hadn’t tried the regular menu until recently. The … Continue reading "River Belle Terrace – Frontierland Disneyland"

Disneyland: Upcoming Events

Actually the first event is one that’s already happened – and that’s the opening of the Celebration Roundup and Barbecue at Big Thunder Ranch. We have the menu on-line – it’s fixed price barbecue chicken, ribs, beans, coleslaw etc., served family style. There are vegetarian options, also. Though not billed as a character meal, Woody … Continue reading "Disneyland: Upcoming Events"

WDW Food and Wine Festival Week – Day 2

Posted on
Day 2 of our Food and Wine Festival trip. We got a late start this morning – still on west coast time. I’m actually trying to STAY on west coast time until after the Tower of Terror 13K race Saturday night – my body will be much happier (ok, so “happier” isn’t really the right … Continue reading "WDW Food and Wine Festival Week – Day 2"

Disneyland Dining: The French Market

Posted on
The French Market is a buffeteria-style eatery on the edge of New Orleans Square. Disney introduced a new menu over the summer, and we hadn’t been there to try it yet, so that’s where we went for dinner before attending the Mickey’s Trick or Treat party later that evening. In addition to the new menu, … Continue reading "Disneyland Dining: The French Market"

An Autumn Day at Disneyland

Posted on
Warning: This is going to be a rambling collection of various observations. On Friday, September 26, the first official day of Disney’s HalloweenTime, I made a day trip to DL with my friend Kristin(e). (Spelled Kristin, but pronounced Kristine – got that?) Weather was beautiful and the crowds were minimal – the longest line we … Continue reading "An Autumn Day at Disneyland"

Disney’s California Food and Wine Festival

Posted on
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Jim Ames, the producer of Disney’s California Food and Wine Festival, about this year’s upcoming Festival. This is the Festival’s third year, and it keeps getting a little bigger (and I think a little better) every year. The major change this year is that the Festival will … Continue reading "Disney’s California Food and Wine Festival"
